I purchased this to be used as a combination salt and pepper shaker. It is working perfectly in our household. (3/4 salt to 1/4 pepper).........saves time in cooking and not so much passing at the dinner table :) I saw a local sandwich shop use a combination shaker and thought it was a great idea. I use red accents in my kitchen so this shaker is perfect. I love the size for use at my stove as I'm cooking. I was looking for the type with a handle just because I like the style. I had a set before that were plain metal with tops that screwed on but the salt shaker top would not come off because grits of salt would get wedged in the threads. This shaker opens at the bottom without screwing so I have no more problems. I bought the salt shaker as well.

For the price, I thought this product would have been of higher quality. I like the color and finish. I like the size. But, the cover on the bottom and weightiness is chintzy. I also didn't appreciate that I order both salt and pepper shakers but had to pay separate shipping fees. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this product at this price.
