I've driven probably 3,000 miles with these racks and two longboards on my car. It takes some practice to find the sweet spot for your board and your car, but once you've got the routine down, these racks are rock solid. Like the reviewer before me said, don't buy these if you've got an antenna in the middle of your roof or those seatbelts that automatically slide forward and backwards, like those that were made in the early '90s.

I didn't expect much out of these racks, but to my surprise they worked extremely well. I used them with both one and two short boards doing freeway driving (at speeds I'd rather not admit to) and this thing worked like a charm. Only once over several hundred miles of driving did one of the straps start to come lose and vibrate. A 30 second retighten and we were back on our way.

A couple of things to note:

1. If you have a wider board, the metal buckles might sit on the rails. Might be a good idea to use a board bag or have some padding you can put between the board and the buckles.

2. I put some anti-slip rug material between the straps and the board. This seemed to keep the straps from vibrating and creating a ruckus. Plus I felt better about the boards not sliding around.

These racks work great for the price. Quick to put on and holds boards well. Strap them on tight and you'll get no movement. If you get a loud hum from 1 of the straps just twist it 1 time to make it stop.

This is a really good soft rack for me. I have a 2 door Honda without a built-in rack and have been using pool noodles with moving straps. This is much easier and super reasonable. Very east to install, too. I did use two more straps in addition to this device for my own peace of mind. (I hit high speeds on the highway and wanted to make sure it stayed put.) I'd buy this one again and am recommending it to family and friends.

I have been using the Block Wrap now for several weeks and I am very happy with it. I have one long board and my daughter has a short board. The Wrap holds both boards very secure.
The Wrap is easy to set up and take down. I would highly recommend this product.

This rack is a good, inexpensive solution to the problem of carrying your board without expensive or permanent racks. There are, however, two problems:

First, the instructions are illegible, and you'd never figure it out on your own. Fortunately there is a youtube video that can help. Just put "Block surf Single rack" in the youtube browser.

Second, if you have a 2-door with back windows that don't open (like my Civic Hatchback), you can't get the racks far enough apart for a stable ride at any kind of speed above 25 MPH. However, I solved the problem by running the strap under the hatchback and wedging the strap in next to the hinges. The rear pad will sit right on top of the little spoiler. But be careful to go UNDER the wiring cable. Now I can even carry my 9'6" noserider at 70+ mph.

Watch the video, though, and you'll have an easy time with this..

I was skeptical about this soft surfboard rack holding my 9.5" surfboard to the top of My Honda Fit on a 200 mile trip to the coast, but it did the job! It was a little noisy, but if you manage to tie down the extra length of strap, it wasn't nearly as loud. This baby did the job and was easy to use. I highly recommend it as an affordable surfboard carrier.
