A fun gift for Mega Man fans!, April 3, 2007
The "Mega Man 6 Inch Retro Style" figure is a great toy for those who enjoyed growing up with the blue bomber and even youngsters looking for something fun to play with. I enjoyed it, as to how Mega Man can be put into various poses, and the quality of the material is excellent as well. So whether you want something cool and retro to display, or something fun to play with, "Mega Man 6 Inch Retro Style" figure is a quality item for anyone who likes Mega Man.

First off, let me say this:
The Retro Roto series is 100% better than the first series of 6" Mega Man toys!!!
When I purchased the first wave of 6" Mega Man action figures made by the same company, I noticed a bunch of flaws with their design. First of all, detail was not too great at all, when compared to other toys. The next complaint would be the articulation. There were many articulation points, but that caused the design of the toys to be clumsy at best, leaving the feeling that I bought the 'Mega Man Marionette doll series'. I could go on, but this is a review of the Retro Roto series toys, not the older
ones.
Anyways, the Retro Roto series improved greatly upon the other Mega Man toys that came before it. It's clear where they got their inspiration from, after looking through an art gallery of the character designs, all the way back to the first game. The design of the toys stay true to the 'retro' Mega Man look, including the correct head-to-body ratio. The Retro Roto Mega Man actually looks like Mega Man, unlike the other Mega Man toy before it. A great amount of work was put into details here.
Now let's get to the toy body design.
One of the things that had to be sacrificed in order to get the body to look like the original, was articulation. There are nowhere near as many articulation points as the first Mega Man action figure series. In the Retro Roto series, Mega Man's head can turn, his arms can move up and down, he can twist around, and his feet can turn around. That's about it. It may seem like a negative mention, but this is actually a plus, because that same old 'marionette doll' look I mentioned about the other toys is gone here. It's almost like if Mega Man was real, and shrunk down to 6", this is what he would look like.
I do have a couple of problems with the toy, if I can call them problems. First, I couldn't get the toy to stand up very well on their own, but it could be just me. Maybe I didn't put enough effort. The second problem, would be paint. I bought two of these Mega Man toys. On one of the toys, the work done on the paint was excellent, while another one of the same toy looked good, but I saw a little bit of paint overlapping other colors in a few spots. This depends on the toy you get, so I couldn't tell you exactly what it would look like.
Overall, like the title of this review says, this toy is a great item for collectors! Don't hesitate to pick one up!

Why doesn't it stand?!?, September 14, 2009

I got this for my son after he dressed up as Mega Man for Halloween one year. While it is cool, and he loves it and plays with it... It doesn't stand up really well. It has this backward lean to it. You can turn the feet out so it stands but then it looks funny.
