Been searching for a while for an environmentally friendly non chlorine bleach that actually did clean and then I tried Ecover Laundry bleach. I also have found the Ecover dishwasher detergent to be the best and I've tried almost all the other brands out there. I do use 3 tablespoons per load instead of 2 because two didn't seem to work as well. Hope Amazon will get this product back in stock again soon!

Ecover Bleach Powder contains almost pure Sodium Percarbonate. Popularized OxyClean and Clorox-2 chlorine-free bleach contain about 50% of that. I definitely prefer to buy more effective Ecover.
In a few words, what it's equivalent to when dissolved in water is baking soda with peroxide mix.
And it acts exactly like that: soda solution dissolves any oil-based stains, while peroxide oxydizes and dissolves colored stains. Blood, whine, BBQ, salad dressings - all gone in minutes.
It's not a miracle bleach, it won't turn your old stained whites back to pristine snow-white color. But it's worth adding 2-3 spoons of Ecover to your washing machine load, it's not as punishing as clorine-based bleach, and your clothes will come out cleaner and fresher.
Overall - very useful addition to your laundry chemicals basket. I highly recommend this product!
