We use two of these to keep our basement dry... one also piggybacks for the A/C condensate pump.. and heater humidifier overflow pump... the work off and on.. 1000's of times... sometimes so much that it scares me to think how much water we'd have in our basement if we didn't have them.. especailly during Sandy and some other storms we've had... after about 6 or 7 years.. the pressure switch invariably get funky.. either the pumps runs and won't shut down... or it won't run at all... at that point.. I yank it. and put a new one in.. too much trouble to risk a rebuilt pressure switch failing after an hour re-install repair.. well worth a $110 bucks... hope these mexican built pumps can stand the test of time..

I got this pump to replace a 15 year old pump of the same type and model number. The old pump still worked, but it would sometimes not shut off once it was done removing water from the sump. I hired a plumber to do the install, which ended up being necessary only because of the PCV piping that had to be done custom. My old pump had an external float and could be tested manually. The new pump has no manual switch, so I had to trust it would work. It has now been faithfully pumping for several weeks. It is actually a bit quieter than the old pump. The only downside is that when we have a serious power outage, I will have to wait for the water level to be high enough to activate the pump before I start up the generator. This seems like a small niggle, but I will have to test it when I am waking up at 2 am to start the generator so that my basement doesn't fill up with water. Still a solid pump at a reasonable price

I'm using the 6-CIA as a sump pump and it is working just fine. The original was also a Little Giant 6-CIA and it lasted about 20 years sitting at the bottom of my sump pit. There were some years of drought here (Colorado Springs), but this pump always worked when needed, especially this year. When the pump doesn't work, my basement floods so I'm sensitive to pump operation.

The pressure switch broke on the old pump and I repaired it with the Little Giant switch repair kit. Now I have a good backup, but I probably won't need it.

I love this pump because in all the years of needing a sump pump for my home I never had to worry about the float being hung up on debris in the tank... or even on the tank walls... An interior switch kicks the pump on and off as need be... It works wonderfully and reliably.
