I'm VERY happy with my Penco walker skis. This is the second set I have purchased, and I specifically wanted these because the first set I had were so good. They glide right along on ANY type of surface - from carpet to sidewalk - and are also quite long lasting. My first set worked well for about fifteen months before I noticed them beginning to wear down. Surprisingly, they don't pick up grit to carry around on the bottom - very strong material. The price is right, and they sure look nicer than those tennis balls (which can get pretty icky)! With wheels on the front and my skis on the back, I can schuss along to anywhere I want to go. I'm a FAN !!

My 85-year-old mother uses these on her walker. She thinks they're wonderful! People who see her "gliding" along frequently ask about them. They're so much easier than tennis balls yet more stable than wheels. Just right!

I purchased this set of skis in that I needed a pair to replace what was on the walker currently. The last set I purchased wasn't as good as the original set and these are far superior. The thickness of the material is rather substantial. I also really like the integral stainless steel screw that draws an insert against the ski and walker tubing that keeps the ski always in the forward position. The previous ski was a push-in type that could (and did) move around and got caught on things which did allow the back of the ski to get caught on carpet runners for example. The next time I get a replacement I will get this same ski (either as a single pack or three pack).

I had a problem with another set of ski glides that twisted and one would fall off so I thought I would give ski glides for my walker one last try. These fit right on and are tightened with a phillips head screw driver. Once you have them tightened, they don't move. They glide easily and make using the walker much easier. I am very happy with them and trust them not to move and cause the problems the other set of glides caused me. Would definitely recommend these glides for anyone using a walker.

I bought these for my elderly mother who hobbles along quite slowly. These don't seem to stay in all that well as I've had to jam some toothpicks into the walker leg shafts to keep them from falling out. They exhibit the same problem with both of her walkers.

Very easy to install and very well made product. It's been in use for ~1 month and is so much better than tennis balls.

Edit: After about 3?? months both skis broke(within a couple weeks of each other) so they are no longer in use. Nice while they lasted but the way they overhang they are quite venerable to breakage. Subtracted one star from original review, maybe I should have done more though considering how quickly they broke....

I ordered this for my visiting mother in law who uses a walker. Apparently the medical equipment stores charge a lot to replace these plus there is a wait time while they get it ordered.

I was able to get it delivered in no time at 1/3 the cost and sliding them on the walker takes a couple of minutes.

These slides nicely not only on the carpet but it is gentle on hardwood floors, is a great noise reducer for sidewalks.

Conclusion: Medicare does not cover this, if you are using a walker but this is a must have accessory. Buying it from here not only saves money but also saves your care provider a couple of extra trips.
