I purchased this digital copier over two years ago. It is a great multifunction machine for my home office needs. I do make hundreds of copies per month and this little baby hasn't failed yet. The TN-540 toner cartridges get approximately 3,500 copies. But, if you buy them through Amazon.com they are so much cheaper than the big name office supply stores in town. You really should price the toner cartridges of any copier/printer/fax machine that you are interested in BEFORE you buy. I saw a great price on another Brother multifunction machine in today's paper. But, when I researched the price of the toner and the page yield per cartridge it was more expensive per page than this DCP8040 model's cartridge.
