My wife buy's this 'desiccated' coconut (dried and finely shredded) for baking slices and cookies particularly ANZAC cookies, an Australian recipe... It is an excellent product! PLEASE read item description before buying this, it is NOT powdered coconut for coffee's and curries etc I see poor ratings due to misunderstanding of what this product actually is.

Honestly, I think the other negative reviews here aren't fair. The product is described as desiccated coconut (also described as powdered coconut), and that's what it is. It's a bit finer than what I can get back home but at least it's dried. It's proved impossible to find in the local shops around MA that are near me. With this I can make ANZAC biscuits, and they will be glorious.

I couldn't find desiccated coconut in my local stores, so found this product on Amazon. I use it for cooking/baking when required. It keeps well and 2 lbs goes a very long way. So, if you need desiccated coconut this is the place to get it.
By the way, the coconut comes properly packaged, though the photo doesn't show it.

I have never tried this before, but had been reading about all the wonderful health benefits of coconut and decided to try a few things. This coconut powder is so fine and naturally sweet (no added sugar). It's great in smoothies, ice-cream toppings, yogurt, fruit cups, baked goods and homemade granola bars. I'm sure it would be yummy in oatmeal or cereal as well : ) It's very versatile and I'm sure has many more uses I have yet to try. Homemade vanilla ice-cream (made with healthy ingredients, of course) topped with a mixture of the coconut powder, chopped almonds and cashews... mmmmmmmmm! I LOVE this product and will continue to order more!
