Top Customer Reviews

This bit lives up to the Whiteside reputation: solid, clean cuts. I bought it after reading about the Infinity Tools lock miter master jig ([...] which allows you to set up for a perfect lock miter cut on the first try. I bought the jig and Whiteside bit. The bit makes solid 90 degree joints without biscuits or splines. I haven't run enough stock through it to vouch for its longevity, but, so far, I'm very satisfied. Get the jig as well. Without it, I think using any lock miter bit would be an exercise in frustration.

This is the first Whiteside router bit I've purchased that didn't live up to the quality that I've come to expect from Whiteside. While making some test cuts into walnut, the points on both sides of the bit that cut the locking groove broke off. Because of the unevenness of the cutting head at that point, the walnut strip that I was routing snapped off where it was clamped to the jig and went flying across the room. I like the idea of a locking miter, but I'm not sure if I want to pay another $99 to see if I just got a bad bit the first time around.
