I was skeptical, but I've stopped using my Bose noise-cancelling earPHONES for these buds. The designer was the sound engineer for the Allman Bros and met their request for something that was light-weight, comfortable and produced clarity. These meet the bill. There is no e-frquency to cancel the drone of jet engines, but the fit is so tight and the volume so good that little exraneous noise interferes.

I was listening to the Bose ipod earphones,and wanted to try the ultimate ears,just to try them. I heard good things about the ultimate ears product,and was anxious to give them a listen. I am a musician,and an audiophile. When the product arrived,I immediately tried them,making sure the right and left were correct, and was instantly disappointed. There was absolutely no bass,and the sound level was really low. I sent them back the next day. I am still searching for a good sounding pair of ipod earphones.
