  • Network attached storage with 1TB of storage.

The StorCenter houses four 250GB 7200 RPM SATA-II drives and supports four RAID configurations. Software RAID 0 provides the best performance and maximum HDD capacity but no data protection; Software RAID 0+1 Mirror of Striped Disks provides good performance and mirroring of data for protection but storage capacity is reduced by half; Hardware RAID 5 provides striping with parity data protection for good performance and large HDD capacity; JBOD, or just a bunch of disks, provides good performance and maximum capacity but no RAID or data protection.

The four drives are mounted in removable trays allowing users to replace the drives with larger drives as necessary. The drives are hot swappable for convenience and flexibility.

Four USB ports and Print Server
For extra convenience, the StorCenter Pro has four USB ports, two in the front and two in the back. As it has a built-in print server, simply plug a printer into a USB port and users on the network can share it.

1.0 out of 5 stars STAY AWAY FROM ALL IOMEGA, July 2, 2007
This NAS 150d arrived dead out of the box. Iomega made me pay the shipping for a replacement. The replacement was scratched up, had no key, and was shipped loose in a box. Iomega did not want to replace that either! What a terrible, terrible company!!

2.0 out of 5 stars No special talent - but I finally got it up, July 1, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Having purchased other Iomega products in the past. I expected it to be well documented and easy to use. Wrong on both counts.

My first problem was getting my computer to recognize it. The box comes with a default IP address that is not in the range of my other systems. I finally discovered that if I disconnected my DSL router from my network, I could find the Nas. No documentation on this. Then the Nas caused all my other IP addresses to flip to its range. This was not good. I finally figured out how to change the Nas to an IP address in my range. This of course had to be done while the rest of the network was down. And don't forget to change the subnet mask if you need to.

After that, things came up and ran OK. I am only using this system as a bunch of disks with no raid. It is obviously overconfigured for what I need, but I wanted the network connectivity, and the print server. After reading other user comments on the Iomega forum, I now realize that the Nas has many problems. If you want one of these, be sure to go there first for more information.

1.0 out of 5 stars Iomega, YOU FAIL, April 14, 2008
By Phil M "P.M." (Northern Minnesota) - See all my reviews
I have the Iomega StorCenter 150D setup as raid 1 (mirror).

I have the unit set to "sleep" mode, 30 minutes. It never does go to sleep.

Our power went out unexpectedly. I have my equipment on battery backup. I shut down my server, but forgot to turn off the StorCenter 150d. The power killed on it, but it was not being used at the time, so it shouldn't hurt it.

Now, when I boot up the storcenter 150d, it is back to factory settings, and LOST ALL MY DATA!!!

I will never ever purchase another Iomega product, EVER.
