Wouldn't fit on my Umarex HK MP5 A5 without alteration. If you're not handy with a Dremel tool look elsewhere for a direct fit sight rail.

There are other mounts that look similiar to this one and cost more, but are not straight. This one is not canted to the right like the other ones. I only gave it 3 stars because the screw holes tend to strip easily. I recommend going to a hardware store and buy some screws that are just slightly longer than the ones that come with this mount...

Ok, Im not sure what all the complaining is about trying to put this on a Walther/HK MP5-SD .22. Fits perfectly. Be sure to have the notched underside going the right way. As another reviewer stated, it is necessary to use a rubber mallet to 'assertively' tap the mount down once the claws are on. The tightening bolt side will eventually line up and fit. Take your time and be careful, the rail will bend easily if you hit it even moderately hard. That's the reason why I gave this mount only 4 stars. All in all not bad for the money, just a little tricky to install.

I bought this as a rail mount for my Umarex HK .22SD. It will not fit as is. Several reviews stated that with a Dremel you could put in five minutes of work and make it fit. I spent several hours grinding to make it work. Still no luck. I have bought several different cheaper rails to find one that works.finally I happened on the Soft Air Rail Mount for MP5 Style Rifles, it fit PERFECTLY, yes it's a little more, about $35, but absolutely fits like a glove. You have already spent $450-500 for the gun, spend a little more on your rail and save some time. You can get a $30-40 dollar sight (Sightmark 4 reticle is great) and the rail for around $70 dollars. Less than the cost of the rail if you bought it from Umarex. I gave the item 3 stars because although it was worthless to me, it may work on other guns. Please take my advice, you will waste your time and money with any other rail system.

I have purchased two other rail systems for my Walther-made MP5 .22LR. Neither of those fit as well as this one, but all of them, including this one, required minor alteration to properly fit.

On this one, the cutout on the underside of the rail that fits over a small boss on the top of the receiver--in between the cleats that the feet on the rail clamp onto--is slightly smaller than the boss it needs to fit over. Because of this, the rail sits a bit high on the screw side, and is probably why other reviewers are calling out an improper or crooked fit, I used a die grinder (Dremel) to expand the channels of the cutout. This allowed it to fit on the receiver perfectly straight and tight as a glove.

One drawback is that the rail sticks out a bit over the front of the receiver. That's a minor cosmetic issue but noticeable.

In hindsight, since the three rails ended up costing me about $70 anyway, I should have just bought the "official" rail and spent the $90 and saved myself some aggravation. However, if I was starting out though and knew beforehand what I know now, I'd go with this rail and take ten minutes grinding away some relief on the underside.

Bought this to replace the hollow plastic rail that comes on the gsg 522. At first I thought it didn't fit but after completely removing the screws and little clamps I was able to get it set right and it fits fine with no modification. Much sturdier than the cheesy plastic one the gsg came with. No need to spend more money on other mounts for the gsg. This fits and works and its cheap.

this is dirt cheap! and with two modifications works GREAT
1.cut off rear to fit the hk rear sight mount
2.replace aluminum screws with steel
doesnt interfere with iron sights and is super solid

From some of the earlier posts here, it might seem that this is difficult or even "can't be done" - and it took me a while to figure out, but it's easy.

First some terminology: The mount has four "feet", two that are fixed, two that are adjustable (the side with the Allen/hex screws).

All you need to do is take off about 1/8-inch from both of the fixed feet. I did it with a bench grinder followed by a flat file to clean up the edges in about ten minutes. There is no need to use spray paint afterward. Alternate methods to accomplish this task could be a Dremel tool, a hacksaw, a grinding bit on a drill, a belt sander, or simply file them down. The modification cannot be seen, and aluminum does not "rust".

I didn't need to do anything more than that, not even purchase new or longer hex screws as some have recommended. I made no modifications to my gun. My only other recommendation would be to use some Loctite on the screws. I have not done this yet, but it seems like a good idea.

The mount fits perfectly and does not interfere with the bolt. I mounted a Leaper/UTG 1X30 red/green dot scope on it, and it's a lot of fun to play with!

HTH, and have fun!
