I am a manufacturer who uses extrusions and die cast parts and who also owns a powder coating company so I feel very confident in making the following observations. The actual cost of the components, finishing and packaging is somewhere is the low $7.00 dollar range for this product. No more no less. The steel tubing is incredibly thin walled, the finish is inconsistent from one Venetian Bronze product to the next and will not stand up over time and scratches very easy. They cut every corner they could in order to produce a low cost product which as described by others is not engineered correctly. It would rate higher if it was priced in the low $20's MSRP but it's not. Delta it seems is intent on selling cheaply made products for a premium price hoping consumers will not know the difference. Shame on you Delta as most consumers don't know what I know about how your products are made.

This product is indicative of buying on line. Good pictures but not much in specifications or quality standards for the product.

Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from Delta and such companies who don't embrace quality, craftsmanship or value for your money and perhaps they will someday raise their standards which are currently very low.

I have installed 100's of towel bars and never seen one engineered to fail like this one. I have installed this thing three times today and it is JUNK! The styling is nice. I love it in fact, that is why I bought it. It was to replace a Kohler double towel bar. Well, there is about 1/16" play where the bars enter the mount attached to the wall so they WILL fall out. Using the template and level each time it fails, not enough of the bar enters the mount. They should give a lifetime warranty... it will never be used because the thing won't ever work long enough to break! Save yourself the trouble, buy a different brand.

Looks really nice, but poorly engineered. A single set screw on each end of the bar is all that keeps everything together. Both screws stripped before I got it assembled the first time. Replaced w/locally purchased set screws, which tightened down ok, but will not hold well enough to support the stresses from 2 large towels.

We bought these because they match the faucets in our bathroom, and they look great on the wall and are easy to install. You do want to make sure the two ends are close enough together to squeeze the bar, otherwise it will rotate when you pull a towel out, and make an annoying squeaking noise!

This was a replacement for a towel bar I bought locally that had a crack in it, and which broke as soon as I closely examined it, feeling the crack with my finger. My contractor said "those things always have problems," which thrilled me not. I decided Amazon was the way to go, and I was right. The towel bar was perfect, no nicks, cracks, etc., and the turnaround on the sale was quick! So I finally got my guest bathroom finished and it looks just great. I can always trust Amazon and it's vendors!

The retail price for this is a bit high for zinc die cast. Zinc is pretty cheap. It doesn't look good if the finish gets gouged. As of 2012, for $40-$50 you can get a solid brass or steel bar from Baldwin.

But this delta finish is thick stainless steel, not chintzy at all. The style is unique. The mounting hardware is zinc/steel. So if you absolutely must get stainless steel in style this is a good choice I think.

This towel bar was a replacement for one that had broken. So I figured the existing holes would fit the new bar. I'd never done this before and the instructions were not exactly clear. I contacted Delta and they were VERY helpful. Though the installation should have taken me 15 minutes, because of my lack of experience it took 2 days. But that's o.k. Delta could not have been helpful enough and I love my new towel bar (which I installed myself).
