Product Description

Product Description

100% Solids Compound Superior Weather Resistance CRL Tremco 440-II Butyl Architectural Tape is a pre-formed butyl sealant in tape form. The 100 percent solids compound of butyl and polyisobutylene contains no solvents or other volatiles that could escape on exposure, causing shrinkage and sealant failure. Tremco 440-II forms a watertight seal to prevent water infiltration, and has superior weather resistance. Highly adhesive, it remains permanently elastic even at low temperatures, and is adaptable to many different types of glazing systems. Use Tremco 440-II for non-compression glazing of vision lites and spandrel panels in metal and wood frames in low rise building construction. It can also be used for lap sealing between panels such as steel, aluminum and porcelain, as well as a variety of other joints in shear between similar and dissimilar materials. Color: Bronze/Black Thickness of Tape: 1/8 in (3 mm) Width of Tape: 1/2 in (13 mm) Feet per Roll: 25 ft (7.6 m) Minimum Order: 20 Rolls (1 Case) Additional Product Information: Temperature Range : Service: -40 to 160° Fahrenheit (-40 to 71° Celsius) Application: 20 to 120° Fahrenheit (-7 to 49° Celsius) Weathering: Unaffected by ultra-violet weathering through glass. Remains elastic even at low temperatures. Important Note: Not for use in joints subjected to prolonged periods of water submersion, or temperatures exceeding 160° Fahrenheit (71° Celsius). For most glazing applications a 6 inch (152 millimeter) toe bead of sealant is required at each corner to insure against water infiltration.
