I picked this up after trying out a similar but pricier kit made by Reeves. I prefer the Reeves kit, but it's considerably more expensive, and this is a much better deal for your money. I definitely like the dolphin design and it turns out pretty well. I definitely recommend practicing on the included practice board, however. The scraper pulls the black coating off a little roughly, so the edges of the lines aren't quite as smooth as you might prefer. It's also a good idea to cover the bits you aren't scraping at at the moment since the coating comes off very easily even when you're not trying to pull it off. The Reeves kit resulted in a cleaner, smoother picture and the coating didn't scrape off involuntarily in the same way. I'd tend to recommend this one as a good project to try out the engraving hobby and see what you think of it. If you're interested in a project to display or give away and don't mind paying a little extra for higher quality goods, I'd go with the Reeves brand instead. Either way, I'm sure you'll have fun with it.

I absolutely love the Royal & Langnickel scratch arts, I enjoy doing them and they are so fun to do.
I have tried another companys and they were terrible to do....I have probably done at least 25 of
the Royal & Langnickel's. I especially love the cat and kittens, I have done about 6 or 7 of the them
alone. Everybody that sees mine wants one...I have sold a bunch once I finish them and frame them....

They looked cool online, but were a little challenging for my kids to do and I even tried them and saw that the tool wasn't that easy to use either. Still look neat when done though.
