Ill start off by saying that this stuff is great. I was using it to cover the surface of a bar cabinet. The first coat I did I was worried about the working time so apparently I did not mix it thoroughly enough before applying it. Even though I mixed for over a minute and thought surely that would be enough. I was wrong, the surface only fully hardened in a couple of areas, but the majority remained tacky. So… for my second coat (which I wasn't intending on doing…) I mixed the heck out of it; for about 5 min or so. This stuff still has plenty of working time after being mixed, so that was not an issue at all. The next day it was perfect. This maybe a no-brainer for those who have worked with epoxy before, but for the newbies like me it may save some headache.
For those of you debating on whether to get the "pour on" cups and mixer… just use a Solo cup and pop cycle stick. Pretty much the same thing.

I used this to repair an ammolite, which is opalized fossil of an animal that's similar to a nautilus. The opalization occurs on the shell, which is very thin. I had cracked a beautiful ammolite while setting it, and I was heartbroken, and figured I'd have to recut it and start over with a new setting. But a friend recommended this and told me how to get the best result (prewarm the stone) and it worked beautifully. You can't even tell there was any damage to the stone at all. It's very clear and very glossy, allowing all the fire and colors of the opalization come through.

As stated by previous reviewers, it's really a good product. Need to really work on mixing them at least 4 or 5 mins to get them working well. A Must Read on the instructions before working it. 4 stars cos it's really pricy. Manage to find it in art stores at a better pricing with their discount coupon. Was $8 for an 8 oz package after discount. I've got 12 coasters done.

I used this to make a set of coasters for my wife for Christmas. I printed out a couple pictures and used the mixture to create a thick protective coating. I love how they turned out for the most part, I had an issue with one of the coasters because I was unable to mix the chemicals exactly and one of the coasters had a tackiness to it. I blame myself for this because it was from the last little bit at the bottom of the container that I was using. I plan on buying more of this in a larger quantity so I can create a nice surface to my bar in my basement.
