I purchase mine locally so am even more pleased since I avoid exorbitant shipping costs. This tahini is made from 100% sesame seeds with no added ingredients. It's fresh and has that special aroma that high quality tahini imparts.

Note: once you open the jar you need to refrigerate it. Also, the freshness, flavor and aroma quickly diminish after it's opened, even when refrigerated. This is no different from any tahini, but I am bringing it up because some folks may not regularly use it. Also, this jar contains a lot of tahini, so if you do not think you can use two pounds in a week, perhaps you want to look at smaller sizes.

Nutritionally this is a high calorie paste that is also high in fat content. That is the nature of sesame seeds and is an inescapable fact of life for any brand of tahini. Each two teaspoon serving has 210 calories of which 171 are from fat. The actual fat content is 18 grams per serving. There are also 5 grams of carbs per serving. It contains no cholesterol and a trace amount of sodium (around 5mg per serving.) Each serving also contains a respectable six grams of protein.

What I love about this brand is the flavor and freshness, of course, but also the consistency. Some brands are a bit runny while others are like a lump of stiff clay. This one is easy to stir and whip, but not runny at all. It's certainly a brand that I would not hesitate to recommend to a friend.

You can buy this size jar from Arabic or Indian stores for about $7-9 depending on which part of the country you live in.

Tahina naturally separates and separation is not an indication of quality. Just shake it like salad dressing before use. No need to refrigerate. Kids (and adults!) like tahina mixed with fruit syrups such as grape syrup or date syrup.

Make tahina sauce for falafel by mixing tahina, water, lemon, and salt. Add fresh chopped flat-leaf parsley for the tahini sauce used on fried fish. The tahina will get thicker when you add liquid so start with a little tahini (about 1/4 cup) and see how much you end up with after adding the necessary water and lemon to thin it out or you might end up with too much.

Seal came broken, as sesame oil leaked all over shipping box. Additionally, the actual sesame paste came up the sides to the mouth of the jar (beyond the oil layer on top), exposing it to air and susceptible to spoilage. The paste won't run back down the sides of the still unopened jar - making it look like a very off-putting, inedible mess.

this product is one of the best quality and I have been using this product for years. It is a sesame paste that you use to make hoomus and with pita bread you can't find a better appitizers.
I have used this product or other name brands for years and this is the best of the brands used.
