My daughter has Down syndrome and I thought this seat would help her learn to sit up faster, but I was wrong. Her muscle tone is exceptionally good, so when she showed early signs of sitting I thought of the money spent as a good investment. I let her use it for about 6weeks and noticed that instead of her ability to sit improving, it got worse. She now thinks she can throw herself backwards without consequence. She is 8 months old and we are still fighting with the "Bumbo-problem."

Let me start off by saying that I love the Bumbo, and would have given it five stars until today. My 8 month old managed to get herself out of it while she was seated on our bathroom floor this morning - lots of blood from a cut up nose, but it could have been a lot worse. I don't know how she did it (in the shower when it happened), but I do know that I never would have suspected she was capable of getting herself out of the Bumbo (she's far less physically active than her brothers were at this age). This is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review, mainly because I've seen reviews where people talk about putting their child in the Bumbo on top of tables and counters - please don't!

Whoever invented this is a GENIOUS!!!!!!! My son is about to hit 5 months and he's had this since 3 1/2 months. When he hit 3 months old, he started sitting on his own. I was worried that it was too early and looked everywhere for something that would help with his posture as well. And THIS is IT!!!!!! He's able to sit here while I'm doing any house work. I bought the tote for it and I'm able to travel with it! He loves it sooo much. And now, he's able to sit perfectly on his own. It's so worth the money. However, on AMAZON...it's pretty expensive...especially It's sooo worth it!
