This is a very good glue, but it is necessary to learn how use it. Surface prep is a must. Clean with denatured alcohol if surfaces are waxy or oily. Rough up with coarse sandpaper if surfaces are smooth. Use two or more coats on porous materials. Do not over-dry before pressing the surfaces together. If the glue does not feel tacky, it has probably dried too long. Just apply another coat and do not wait so long before bonding. Learning how to use contact cement took me a while. There are no short cuts for these steps that will work as far as I know.

This is like the other Weldwood contact cement, excellent. However, if you do not store it in the freezer (where it will probably keep for years if the cap is screwed on tightly), it will dry out rather quickly.

Sometimes you really need an instant bonding for certain types of repairs. Often, that means using one of the "Super Glue" variants. However, if there is a slight gap or uneven surface, or if the surface is porous, the cyanoacrylate family of glues will not work well, if at all. In those instances, contact cement is usually an effective alternative, and the DAP Weldwood is one of the best brands on the market. The 3 ounce bottle, with brush-in-cap applicator, is inexpensive and adequate for many small household repairs. It is definitely one of those items that you should keep on hand just in case you need it. Like many things, it is far better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Highly recommended.

I use this stuff to glue my vinyl moped covers back on their respective seat. Paint a generous area to the what needs to be glued and to what it is being glued to. Wait a bit and slap together. Seat's are holding up find. This was vinyl to metal, dense sponge material and plastic.

Not as strong as I had hoped upon purchase. I used it on paper to paper and plastic to
carpet. On both surfaces it did bond but it was somewhat easy to separate after 24 hours.
I followed the product instructions and had trouble telling when it was the right time to join
the pieces. If you wait to long both sides will be too dry to bond.

This product was exactly what I needed! I bought a kydex(plastic) Inside the Waistband holster for my gun but it was just a slick so I picked up a piece of suede and this contact cement and I used it to wrap the holster in suede.

The process was as follows:
I then scuffed up the holster with 600 grit sand paper
I then cleaned the holster with soap and water and degreased it with alcohol
The applied a thick coat to both the holster and the suede.
After both materials were tacky I wrapped the suede around the holster.

The bond is now pretty permanent and I don't think I could delaminate the pieces even if I wanted.

Very useful and very strong. The applicator is very handy and saves you from spending more money on constant brushes. A little of this stuff goes a long way, so it can last you for smaller projects.
