Product Description

The real story of Johannes Kelpius and the so-called Wizards of the Wissahickon is simply too rich and full to be adequately contained in a single novel. There was one story that needed to be told. It is from the viewpoint of a 16th century child who briefly crosses path with young Kelpius, the legendary healer and philosopher. I had no place in The Woman in the Wilderness for it, but the tale took on a life of its own in this story.

About the Author

Jonathan D. Scott was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, across the Schuylkill River from the site of Johannes Kelpius' tabernacle in the woods. Growing up, he became intimately acquainted with the forests of the Wissahickon Valley, the setting for THE WIZARD OF THE WISSAHICKON. He spent five years researching the many facts and fictions that surround these subjects. He is the author of THE WOMAN IN THE WILDERNESS, a historical novel based on the story of the elusive Kelpius and his brethren in the late 17th century. Scott's first two short stories won first prizes in literary magazine contests. Many of his stories can now be found on line in electronic publications. Scott now lives in the Sandhills of North Carolina on a small horse farm with his wife and two daughters. He is the owner of Lotus Advertising, and Graphic Design.
