I got these for a bargain price because, honestly, my dog is kind of a wuss and I didn't have any idea if he'd use these or not. I definitely didn't want to break the bank since I've already paid a fortune to the vet for his bad mutt breeding and constant issues with 3 out of 4 legs.

Anyway, I had these steps assembled in about 3 minutes. It would have only been 2 minutes if I hadn't taken one minute to glance at the directions, assuming that the process was more difficult based on the reviews I read.

Immediately after I had the steps together and pushed up against our window seat, I armed myself with treats for my 65-pound, part Lab mutt. He was reluctant at first. My mom had to give him some slight encouragement with a gentle nudge from behind. Before we knew it, he was up the steps without any trouble at all. With more treats and a light pull on his collar, we got him to go easily down the steps. More treats and about 10 more practice sessions up and down and he's got it.

The stairs have four rubberized feet on the bottom. I haven't seen his weight shift or wobble the steps. The carpet seems securely attached to the steps, yet easy to remove for washing.

We just rescued a wonderful pibble (pit bull) / lab mix who is over 11 years old. He has joint problems and it is difficult for him to get into our car. We purchased these steps for him and they great, better than we expected. My husband put it together easily and then walked up and down the steps, he is 6'3 and weighs 180 and they didn't sag, fall apart, exploded ...they just did what they were designed to do. Once he was satisfied that they wouldn't collapse when Keno used them we put them next to the back door and Keno went up them with no trouble, same for coming down. I would recommend these for any one who has an animal that needs steps. ... save a life...rescue, foster, volunteer or donate!! You too can be a hero to an animal in need!!

Pet Gear makes at least two different 2-step models (for pets up to 75 lb. and 150 lb.) with various colors. We own both models. This review is for the bigger model. Both of the 2-step models are too short for most beds although OK for the sofas. We use a 3-step from a different company for the bed as it is made from wood, not plastic. We plan to use this one as an alternate to the ramp for the van (Sienna) as we don't have the side steps. It is light weight and about the right height (16 inch tall, 6 inch deep for the first step). The back of the steps leans well against the edge of the sliding door. This seems to be easier to use than a heavier ramp. BTW, the product features "Length: 25.0 "; Height: 23.0 "; Width: 16.0" is wrong for the 2-step but the product description is correct - I wish I noticed the conflicting information earlier. This 2-step 150 lb. model box said (16"H x 16"W x 22.5"D) - I contacted Amazon so they should be making the corrections on the website. The installation is easy. The reason for a four star is that our smaller pet (his arm/leg is less than 5 inch long) seems to like the smaller 2-step better as the step is not as deep (5 inch deep for the first step on that model) and our bigger pet will not use either model yet. For a little more, I think the bigger model is a better buy and a much better product.

The steps arrived promptly, went together easily, and work just fine. Height works well on our bed. Dogs learned to use them fairly easily. (Dogs are 55 & 75 lbs.) The carpeted treads are velcro'd for removal.

My dog is getting old and stiff and can't do much jumping, he needed help to get on my bed and since he's 80lbs helping him would strain my back. I bought this stairs and he uses them now every time he wants to get on my bed, and he learned really quickly. I've had dog ramps before and even though they work great too they are bulkier and need to be put away. These steps are next to my bed all the time.

When I received the order I noticed the steps seemed narrow and he didn't want to use them. Upon checking the box there was a small print area to check off the size dog. These 150 pound capacity steps are sized for a small dog. I immediately returned the steps.
