Why not just leave the door open? There is so much air coming in this door is useless. The picture shows how bad it seals and it's worse when the wind blows a little harder. This picture was taken when there was a light breeze.

I had a large PetSafe single flap door installed at my old house into an unconditioned space. Never worried too much how it sealed. I installed one in my new house where it does go into a conditioned space, and noticed many times the flap did not reconnect with the bottom magnet, and a small breeze kept it open.
I started looking at dual flap models to stop the draft, but all were a different size. Since I actually had the door specifically made with a cutout for this exact door, I did not want to start cutting to fit another model.
MY SOLUTION - I bought a second PetSafe door. I removed the outside trim ring of the existing unit (the one without the flap), and installed the flap half of the new door on the outside. It has been working perfectly!!
Since the aluminum frame is made with 4 pieces of extruded aluminum, held together by 4 corner brackets crimped in place, there is some flex in the corners of the frame. With the normal single flap installation, the outside trim fits inside the interior trim where they cover the wood of the door. My dual flap install, using the flex in the way the frame is held together, allowed the second flap frame to flex open a bit and slide outside the original flap frame. I had to widen the holes for the 4 plastic mounting screws - the outside ring has sleeves that slide into the frame for the screws to screw into, so the holes in the non-flap frame are bigger than the flap frame. A 5/16" bit did the trick.
I will say that ocassionally one flap does not seat properly, but the other does. This only happens about 5-10% of the time, but still breaks the draft on the other flap, allowing to to function correctly. The other 90-95% of the time both flaps are holding on to the bottom magnet as they should, and the upgrade was less than $50 & required no cutting. That's much better than $150 - $250 for a dual flap model that I would have had to change the existing hole size.
