This thing could hold bigfoot!

My Pit Bull is the strongest and most determined dog in the world (also the sweetest for all you PB haters). She has chewed through or ripped every anchor I have tried, until this one. This thing is really a great innovation. I hope the inventor makes a ton of loot. It is easier to install than any of those screw in things and holds fast against really strong force. Another great feature is, if you install it correctly, you can mow right over it without it interfering with the mower. After buying the one, I bought another for my other PB puppy. Seriously, they are the greatest dogs in the world and there is a ton of them that need homes at your local shelter.

Works great for dumb dog that likes to run to the end of his chain

I have to admit, my 75 lb. boxer does not run to the end of the chain nearly as, um, enthusiastically as he used to after doing his first backflip. *Sigh* Luckily it only took once for him to learn his lesson. However, he still frequently runs to the end of the chain and pulls hard on the chain and to my relief, this anchor hasn't even moved a tiny bit out of the ground. This has quite literally been a real life-saver for the kitties in our neighborhood. I would imagine this product would probably perform differently based on your soil type. I happen to have rock hard, clay soil which proved very difficult to get this product into the ground, even when it was sopping wet. But now that we have it in, it is not going to come back out (we tried to move it once and ended up just buying a new one). Overall, I'd highly recommend this product if you have a dog that likes to pull on his chain and you don't want it to pull out one of those cheap corkscrew anchors.

Update: fast forward a few years and I still love this product. It is showing some signs of rust, so I bought a new one to replace it just in case. The packaging does recommend replacing it every 6 months to year I believe. I've been using it for about 3 with no problems.

Fantastic product, great price!

We've tried multiple ways to attach our 100 lb+ Goldens to their long cables at our Cabin. We want them to have plenty of room roam but it always seems such a hassle. They either get tangled, the stakes we've tried have pulled out & are also tripping hazard for the kiddlets.

I found this last summer & thought we'd give it a try. Following the super easy directions on the pkg. it was quick for Hubby to install. I wanted a second location in the back so just bought another. It's really great because there's only a small loop of wire coming out of the ground so nothing to trip over or for the dog's cable/leash to wrap around & get tangled.

We have hooked both 100 lb.+ dogs using BR Tools Dog Tie Out Cable - 15 Foot to one single loop and even together (look, squirrel!) they cannot pull it loose from the ground!

Installation rod bends but anchor works great!

Ordered it after reading the reviews of those with pitbulls... As I have a very high drive 10 month old female pit who broke chain after chain and collar after collar and would jump the fence... I was fed up and so was my neighbors so I thought I would give it a try... Well so far so good! Now the installation sounds easy enough but we ran into some trouble when my husband was putting the rod in ground, it bent!. We couldn't get it out and knew the anchor hadn't flipped with the rod in... Well after forever we finally got the rod out and went to pull, using the rod, as the instructions say and the god then broke. However we just used something else to pull and the anchor flipped and my pup has tried and tried but has yet to pull it out of the ground! It was worth the little trouble we ran into and specially for the decent price and quick arrival. Been a good buy for our Pitt since she now can run much of the yard and we're happy she can't leave the yard!

WORKS PERFECTLY & inconspicuous

Best dog tie I have ever had. It hides well in the garden or grass and shows only the tiny metal loop at the top. I care about it being hidden because I am a gardener/yard party & also because my kids are soccer players that don't need a tripping hazard in the lawn where they practice a lot. We have mowed over the tie we installed in the grass and didn't have any issues with clipping the grass right over it. If you ever need to get rid of the tie some metal clippers or jewelry clippers would clip it off at soil level but it is too sturdy for my bulldogs to chew through. I have tied two Bulldogs at one time to it and it did not budge at all. I love that it is so inconspicuous and easy to insert into the ground and use. The best dog tie I have found! Highly recommend, in fact I bought a few so that I had a choice of where to tie the dogs depending on our activity in the yard.

rod bends and breaks when hammered down

OK...get this....The rod that is used to hammer the anchor part down into the ground comes in two pieces that you screw together in the middle.
As I was hammering the rod into the soil the rod bent....you guessed it...in the middle. This causes a major problem because now I just KNOW I will run over the cable with my lawnmower some day because it sticks too far out of the ground. The ONLY reason for a 2-piece rod is to make the package smaller and save space for the manufacturer. What a piece of junk.

These are great, our big malamute/husky mix can't budge them. He likes to chase cows so have to keep him on a leash when he's out. We're going to order two more to make a long run for him so he doesn't always go in circles. I like the way they lay flat on the ground so don't have to worry about running over them -- just falling in the holes he digs chasing gophers while on the leash :)

Easy to drive into the ground
