If you need a quick hit of Willie Nelson, your time is short, you have things to do...but you MUST HAVE the best of the best, this is the CD for you.
Every track on the CD is an old favorite, and there is simply nothing better. These are all vintage Willie Nelson greats, from "On the Road Again" to "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain." Particularly poignant just now is "Pancho and Lefty," sung with Merle Haggard.
Nelson has, of course, sung these songs many times, live and recorded, and they appear on other CDs. But the versions gathered here are laid back, casual, and wonderful. It's almost like having him sitting in your livingroom, maybe sharing a brew or two, putting his booted feet up , and strumming his guitar, completely relaxed--completely wonderful.
My CD library would not be the same without this quintessential Willie Nelson must-have collection. I recommend it highly!

Willie Nelson is, of course, a legend and while it is not possible to do full justice to Willie's music in such a short compilation, it is available at a budget price.
Blue eyes crying in the rain,. Always on my mind, City of New Orleans and Georgia on my mind had all been successful for other singers but Willie did each of them his way, breathing fresh life into them. Willie was also brilliant with original material, as he shows on My heroes have always been cowboys, On the road again and others. There is just one duet here - Pancho and Lefty (with Merle Haggard).
So this compilation only provides a brief introduction to Willie's music, but the songs here are well chosen. If you cannot afford a more expensive compilation, or you only like Willie a little bit, this will suit you.

This is definately a greatest hits album but not enough hits.A few more Willie songs would have been nice.But still all the tracks are great and plus its Willie,you want be disappointed,trust me.

When found at a good price, the Super Hits record provides good value and offers seven hit songs plus three what I considered fillers. I bought it because "Poncho and Lefty" is one of my favorite songs and "City of New Orleans" is my second favorite of Willie's songs. "My Heroes have always been Cowboys", "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain", "Georgia on my Mind" are other fine additions. The recordings of the big songs are good ones on this album. For me, Willie's more expensive, more all-inclusive greatest hits records were more than I was looking for. This album was just right.

Willie Nelson stretches his wings into blues, honky tonk and very romantic areas of song. I continue to enjoy his variety of style, which he does so successfully, and his really sensitive voice style. I highly recommend this cd--so much better than the wailing drivel that is supposed to be country western music currently played on radio, etc.

The CD arrived quickly and Willie begins singing his old favorite "On the Road Again" followed by "My heroes have always been cowboys". Then comes "Blue eyes crying in the rain". The presentation of the nine of the ten songs is good and it makes one want to sing along with Willie. I really did like Willie and Merle Haggard singing "Pancho and Lefty"; their duet is always good and their voices blend well with each other. The CD ends with "Angel flying too close to the ground" and I really wish that it would have repeated a portion of "On the Road Again" because I wasn't too enthused with the choice of the tenth song because I never thought it was a super hit for Willie.

I was pleased to find this cd to replace one I had lost with the same collection of super hits. Album picture is different so must have been released at different times. Love the songs, but the sound is not the best on a couple. Overall, I would recommend to anyone who loves listening to Willie.

There are just too many pros to this purchase!

* 10 absolute 100% greatest hits
* Starts off with "On The Road Again," written by Willie
* Next comes "My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys"
* Low budget-priced album (re-release of the 1994 original)
* "Georgia On My Mind" for all of us missing our home state
* "Poncho And Lefty" with Merle Haggard
* Ride that train in "City Of New Orleans"
* There's a "Super Hits" sequel!

Missing your "favorite" song on this album? "Highwayman," perhaps? That's because this CD is part of a two-album set. You also need to purchase...

Willie has been around the block a time or two. You'd think that, being famed for "Georgia On My Mind," he would have been from the Peach State, but "Shotgun" Willie was born in Texas in 1933. He is known for his liberal activism and has had difficulties with the IRS. A day over 80 years of history packs a punch for this "Red Headed Stranger" in the music industry, humanitarianism, politics, and environmentalism.
