A very handy tool if you do any serious wiring using metal junction boxes and EMT. This tool has all the thread patterns that you could possible need. It is also handy for cleaning any machine screw nuts which have been corroded, cross-threaded or otherwise "buggered".

I have to say it's a great tool to have in my bag goes though outlet boxes like butter I love this tool and use it every time I need it and know it will handle most jobs the only thing is don't go though hard steel(like my tap and die set would) with it I made that mistake but ordered a new tip and away it goes again great tool for electcial work but if your going into hard steel it won't hold up and thats not what it's ment to do

This tool isn't for everyone but if you deal with attaching fixtures or plates to metal electrical, what a life saver. We just took over a property and upgraded over 200 old style outside porch lights the builder installed with new low voltage fixtures. Those jack legs and the poor stucco work resulted in some of the worst installations with many stripped screw holes in the electrical boxes. This tool takes only a few seconds to resize and thread the holes back to new condition so you can properly install the new ones. The only thing missing is an assortment of screws that work in the new holes!! LOL Another fine quality Klein specialty tool (still made in the USA according to the package) that is a lifesaver. It can be used on other items with thinner softer type metals, hard plastic, etc. but the bit is not strong enough to try and tap thicker, heavier grade steel by any means. Use it for what its designed and its worth every penny it costs and then some!

I do like this tool but I have a problem with the Quality I had one used it for a week it broke but then again i used it every day all day about 60 hours through the week at work because the company didnt order the right screws and they were fans i was hanging doing trim out so had to thread them out to 10-24s eventually it broke low quality steel in my opinion then again it says china on it but so did the fans i was putting up xD put up about 200 fan in a week so 400 holes being threaded still a bit low number just saying

I'm a locksmith and use these size taps quite often. Home depot sells this for nearly $35 last I checked. I did have to exchange this at home depot and had no issue at all. The taps are "made in China".as it says on them but if they break any klein tools retailer will send back or exchange if in stock. Really the only tap screwdriver I could find anywhere and very satisfied!

I always spray a nice coat of wd40/ lubricant to help with snapping, because getting it out can be quite a pain. If it gets to where it feels "tight" back it off about half to 3/4 turn and try again. Works for me.

Handle made in the USA, the actual tap is manufactured in China. I haven't used my tap specifically at all yet to give you a true review but I've used my journeymans a lot and that has held up nicely. Always does its job. It's probably not ment for anything other than the kind of metals you would find associated with electrical boxes and materials.

The tap (the important part) is made in China. Klein has, unfortunately, started moving in that direction. the 6/32 portion of the tap snapped off the first time I used it. I'm an actor, but my day job is as a commercial electrician, so I do know how to use the tool. I have always loved Klein Tools, but now when I buy, I find myself reading the label carefully to see where it's made. If it isn't U.S. made, I buy another brand. I sure as heck don't buy Chinese made tools if there is any other option. For those that don't know by the way, Dewalt is not only moving their manufacturing to China, the company was bought out by a Chinese firm.

high quality very affordable made in the usa and convenient makes it one of the best tappers on the market, the only down side is you have to be very careful with the smaller size tap because they are easy to break but that is true for all of them not just this model.
