Really not sure about these staples because the Gardner Bender MSG-501V Cable Boss Staple Gun that I bought to use them doesn't perform well at all. Takes a lot of pressure and requires the staple to be hammered in to finish the job. Not sure if it's the staple or gun, but I expect it's the gun.

The darn thing actually works quite well when running romex (NM cable for inside wiring). You can actuall use the stapler to smooth-out the exterior insulation, get it straight and where you want it then send home the staple. I used it quite a lot on the wife's horse barn that is made of seasoned old fashioned cedar. Most of the staples "went home" when actuated but this wood is some very hard stuff and occassionally I had to back up the stapled product with a hammer. Darn good value for the money and refills are carried by some of the big home improvement stores.

works nice. great when up on a ladder stringing lines across trusses. sometimes staples need a whack with a hammer if you don't have gun against wood properly or if the lumber is really hard. made quick work of wiring my garage.
