THE WEAVER SIDE MOUNT BASE CAME ON TIME AND ALTHOUGH NOT PICTURED THE 4 SCREWS CAME WITH IT. THE SCOPE IS NOW ON THE SAVAGE NUMBER 5 22 RIFLE. MY SAVAGE MODEL 5 HAD TWO 10-32 HOLES DRILLED AND TAPPED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RECEIVER INSTEAD OF 8-40 WHICH THE BASE CAME WITH FOUR SCREWS IN 8-40. MY GUN SMITH FRIEND DID NOT HAVE TO DO ANY DRILLING AS THE TWO HOLES MATCHED UP. HE MACHINED TWO 10-32 SHORT SCREWS THAT I HAD AND SHOULDERED THEM AS THEY WERE COUNTER SINK STYLE SO THEY WENT INTO THE BASE PLATE FLUSH.
HE REMOVED JUST ENOUGH THREAD ON EACH SO HE DIDN'T HAVE TO DRILL THE HOLES IN THE BASE OUT. HOPEFULLY SIGHTING IN WILL BE SUCCESSFUL.

The Side Mount Base lined up with the mounting holes on the gun, however, the mounting screws are flat head countersink style and the holes in the base are not countersunk. This does not allow for enough thread in the gun to hold the mount securely. This is especially true of the larger of the three screws. I would like an explanation from the vendor.

I ordered the Weaver side mount that all the charts say fits my old trusty Stevens Model 87B .22

It did not fit. the gun was drilled and tapped but only one hole would align

Base is the usual good weaver quality just did not fit my rifle as advertised.

It said it was for a pre-64 Winchester Model 94 and a quick mount. It required tapping the receiver of the gun which intern makes the gun worthless once you do that. Soooo...... I didn't. I wouldn't have purchased it if they would have said that within the ad.

Would not line up with screw holes on my 1954 Winchester 94. Specifically stated it would, and it does not. As originally manufactured, it doesn't sit flush up against receiver and holes don't line up unless it's at a slight tilt/slope, and the big screw is not long enough to catch the internal threads in receiver.

Only leaving 3 stars. The product was as described and shipping was fast! Sadly though the screws that were included DID NOT FIT. They would not even go through the mount base at all and even if they did were too short to do any good. Not that big of a deal, just disappointing.

Proper size and item. The screws were smaller than what the rifle had been tapped for so I guess that isn't any fault of the product. With a minimal amount of drilling and countersinking it is working fine with the original screws.

what can I say? It is a weaver type side mount for a scope. it sits on the side for those guns that top eject. it is well built and seems to stay in place as long as you use a thread lock on the screws. good deal.
