I used this for my power and fuse distribution system in my 2001 Toyota Tacoma 4x4
They were used for my battery cable set up
I used the Allstar solder slugs to connect the two.
These lugs are tough and looks like they will last a life time or two.

This is a review for ONLY the 6g, 3/8" stud lug 252246.

I bought the 4g, 6g and 8g HD Ancor tinned lugs. The 4g and 8g lugs are indeed heavy duty, solid items.

The 6g lugs in the same series are not... at least not the ones I received...! Apart from the tinned finish, The 6g lugs are identical to Pico copper lugs you can buy in any car store for a couple of bucks a pair, and are half the thickness / weight of the other two HD Ancor lugs.... too light, bendy and flimsy for my use and in no way what I would call heavy duty.

The 4g and 8g Ancor lugs are a four star product IMHO.... they would need to be even slightly heavier to be a five star product as I've seen heavier lugs than these.

The product was exactly what I expected -- a tinned, marine-grade lug. There was nothing special and it's not outstanding in any way (pro OR con).

I like having the right part for the right job. These work great in my boat and are probably the best out there. The cheap stuff will work but at some point, they corrode and it is usually at the worst time. These work well in a marine environment and are very durable. I would advise using Ancor's adhesive lined heat shrink tubing with these if you are in a marine environment. It costs more but you shouldn't have any problems whatsoever if you do.

Awesome lugs for making your own battery cables for boats, cars, welding or solar panels. These lugs are the best on the market. I bought several tinned copper lugs off eBay and for me the quality is not even close to comparable to the Ancor products. If you are going through the work to make your own cables, make sure you get these lugs!

Ancor products are always superior. Have used them for years on my vehicles as well as my ocean going sailboats. I make my own cables using Ancor marine grade wire. Right now replacing the wire in my motor home with marine grade wire. It is superior to the wire used by the MH manufacturer. Also replaced the so called three stage, "smart" battery charger with a marine battery charger that is real three stage battery charger.

The verbiage "Marine grade lug" is a bit misleading, to my knowledge theres no spec defining this verbiage & whats on the package that these lugs come in is "Heavy Duty Lugs", which are from "Ancor, Marine grade products"

With that being said, another reviewer put it best -It does what its supposed to, no better or worse than any other lug (To adequately separate/concatenate these from/to others, this is a tinned copper lug -Ideal for use on a vehicle, boat, or indoors if you felt so inclined)

Its a quality product, as long as you put some quality into installing it -Price is a little on the premium side comparatively, but theyll work for what you need them to!

If you make your own battery cables (and who doesn't?), you'll need a two-pound hammer, a crimping tool, the right gauge of cable and some of these. I use the tinned copper lugs exclusively, because they don't corrode nearly as fast in this, the foggiest city on the North American Continent. They're not cheap - but you can build your own cables to the exact length with these which will cost you less than a third of what you'll pay for cables of standard (inexact) lengths.
