This product was recommended by our physician to help heal a severe facial burn. It worked wonders, the skin is fully healed and my wife found it reduced fine lines around her eyes, and yes she does look younger. There is no cosmetic fragrance, I found it helps heal small cuts and nicks from shaving.

My 2-month old baby had cradle cap around her ears, nose, eyebrows, forehead, and eyelids for days. Or at least it looked like cradle cap. It looked like very thick, flaky dry skin. It first appeared on her scalp. A day later, it was all around her ears, sides of her nose, eyebrows, forehead, and eyelids.

After some research on remedies, one mom on a message board recommended Aquaphor. We remembered getting a tiny little sample tube of Aquaphor from the hospital when our baby was born. So we tried it. The result is beyond amazing! The thick flaky dry skin around her ears, forehead, & nose, where we applied Aquaphor has cleared in just one day. We applied it once in the morning, then reapplied around noon, and reapplied it again at night after her bath and before putting her to bed. We will try to put a thin layer on her eyebrows & lids now that we know it works great! As for the scalp, we are trying a special shampoo for it.

Needless to say, we bought a larger tube of Aquaphor!

I've gone through a few tubes of Aquaphor already during my accutane course. Aquaphor is pretty awesome has been a godsend for my accutane-induced severely dried lips. When I ordered the 1.75 oz tube from this specific seller, I received it and noticed that the expiration date on the tube was stamped "EXP 08/2012". It expired a year and a half ago, not cool! I can tell the product is super old because the ingredients have separated. When I squeeze some out, sometimes it'll be a gel-like substance that comes out, other times I'll get a thin and oily substance that comes out. Beware of the products you purchase from this seller.

I used to think this stuff was too greasy for me...until I needed something to help heal a couple of shave biopsy sites incurred during a routine skin cancer screening. My doctor and others said that Vaseline was just as good as Aquaphor as the point of using either was to keep the sites moist enough not to ever completely dry out. Once they dry out, the skin doesn't "fill in" anymore and you will end up with a bad scar. So...I used the Vaseline to start, then I tried Polysporin.

Well, after a week, I really wasn't seeing any improvement, so I decided to give Aquaphor a try instead. It's NOT just "glorified petroleum jelly" as the derm office said. It has panthenol in it, for one thing, and is less than half petrolatum. It has a stickier, less oily feel to it as well, so it stays where you put it unlike pet.jelly which melts and runs. No scent, of course, so that's great. From the maker: "Unlike petroleum jelly, it creates a semi-occlusive barrier on skin, which creates an ideal healing environment that enables the flow of water and oxygen. It also absorbs the recovering skin’s own natural wound exudates, keeping the wound moist to help promote healing."

Well, it must be the reason, because within a couple of days of using the Aquaphor (and bandaids to keep the wounds protected), I noticed a marked reduction in the redness of the sites as well as a noticable calming of the skin. Another few days and the deep depression or "divet" quality of the sites started to fill in with new skin. Yay.

It's been three weeks now and both sites are fairly healed, no bandaids necessary, both filled in significantly. I know they will continue to heal over the coming months, and that this will be aided by using the Aquaphor.

I have sensitive skin and can not tolerate anti-bacterial ointments. My dermatologist told me to use this in place of Bacitryn or medicated ointments. It reminds me of petroleum jelly, although the Aquaphor will eventually soak into your skin and not be greasy. My doctor said it forms a protective layer over skin injuries and it has always worked for me for over seven years. Sometimes, in the winter, my skin gets so dry it actually cracks on the side of my index finger. Aquaphor is the only thing I have found that will allow the cracked skin to heal. Does not have any funny scent. Great product.

I have such sensitive skin - this is one thing I know won't irritate. I use it anywhere my skin gets dry, but mainly lips and around my eyes at night. I've been using Aquaphor for many years (20+) It's the one item I always go back to and trust.

My tattoo artist reccom ended this and I see why. I applied light layers twice a day for a week and tattoo quickly peeled and healed. Totally skipped the scanning phase! Works great for dry and cracked skin too!
