The seat is very nice and fits the bowl. However, the hardware that comes with it is a joke. The holes to mount the seat are standard and match the Ceramic Bowl perfectly. However, the METAL bolt (that will rust) that comes with the seat is ~1/3 the diameter of the hole (too thin). The washer that comes with the bolt is the correct size so it too slides around inside the bolt.

When I sit on a toilet set, I am not looking for any slide around action. So, I took this hardware out and replaced the bolts, etc with the standard nylon/plastic versions that comes with other brands and now all is now well.

So, if you buy a kohler seat, expect to also buy the standard nylon (non metal) bolts and nuts also unless you want some slide around action and eventually, RUST.

Installation was easy... screw in and put the caps on... You're done. However, the quality of the product is what bothers me. The positioning of the seat itself slants to the left by about 1/4", not perfectly aligned to the toilet bowl itself. I could understand if they were 2 different manufacturers, but the bowl itself is also a Kohler. It appears to be stable enough, but I'll have to keep an eye out for future loosening, since the screw-in mechanism seems to be very antiquated. I'm a little concerned about safety, since the hinges are plastic and tend to spread during tightening. The caps hold them in place. However, if one of them breaks and the seat is slanted to the left, there might be a safety problem. I'm a little disappointed that Kohler could have put out such a defective product. Up until now, I held them to a much higher standard.

I also picked a lighter color (biscuit) than the actual color of the bowl itself, but that's my mistake... It's one of the reasons I tend not to buy these items online, given that it's hard to gauge the perfectly matching color. No stars have been deducted from this review because of any color issues.

I will follow up with an update on the product in a few months.

First one received was busted at the mounting bracket, but Amazon quickly shipped out a new one. It matches my toilet great. Seat slips a tad, not a lot - but enough to irritate me. I find the seat itself a bit uncomfortable at times, but if I move around I can usually be okay with my position. The inward slope of the seat towards the bowl is what bugs me. It isn't as bad as a lot of those cheaper lids, but for the price I was hoping for a better feel.

While the color is an exact match to the Kohler toilet, the seat itself is not particularly comfortable. It is designed with a downward curve in the seat which makes you feel like you are not even sitting on a seat, but instead on the bare rim of the toilet. This downward slope also lowers your overall sitting position on the toilet, adding to the feeling that you might "fall" into the seat.

Additionally, it is about impossible to secure this seat tightly to the toilet without stripping the attachment bolts and, therefore, the seat moves (very slightly) and makes noise, slight "squeaks," each time you sit on it. I also noted when I took it out of the box that the seat was marred and showed visible scrape marks everywhere the lid "stoppers" touched the surface of the seat. NOT a functional problem, but just not the quality I expected from Kohler.

Package arrived well-packed. Seat was easy to install from the top. Fits perfectly and color is true. My only regret is not noticing it is NOT SLOW CLOSE. I recommend this seat, but if you can, get the slow-close. You'll be surprised what a difference it makes.

A little bit Mickey Mouse as far as the plastic goes. It seems a bit flimsy to me. Next time, I will go ahead and pay a bit more for the molded wood model. On a positive note, it fits my Kohler elongated toilet perfectly and was so easy to install! Also, the color matches my Biscuit colored toilet perfectly! It does seem well-constructed but the lid just seems a bit thin...

Bought this from a big box home store. This seat does not bolt to the toilet tightly. The hinges are horseshoe shape for the quick release function and don't secure firmly since they just spread out as you tighten leaving less contact area for securing. The seat sometimes feels like you will slide off the toilet, seat and all. Potentially hazardous. I'm having to have a hip surgery and don't feel this is safe enough with it wiggling loose all the time. I've had the seat for 3 years and have hated it since day one! I'm on Amazon shopping for a safer seat that actually bolts securely. Just as an FYI, the reason I bought it in the first place was because I thought I would use a seat that was quickly removable for cleaning, but have not removed it even once for cleaning. Cleaning the old fashioned way is less of a pain. This seats bolts, plastic horesehoe shaped thin wing things that allow for the quick release, and the plastic wing nuts that never stay tight are junk. I can't believe Kohler would produce such an unsafe toilet seat.

If I could find another seat that matched in color I would never purchase another one of these. Kohler, I expect better of the products you place your name on. Seat back stands straight up until you sit back and then it goes back while giving you the impression that the seat is not installed properly even though it is. Very disappointed!
