Not the best Taiwan ever produced... but I wasn't looking for the best. At $14.97 for the Metric & $13.78 for the SAE (shipped) I bought both sets... so it's the same review for both. I needed something for basic use and have much better wrenches for getting stuff loose so these are just for speed and convenience.

The reversible ratchet is nice because on some you have to flip the wrench over. The plastic edging on these probably won't hold up to a lot of abuse or extreme cold... which seems to be when I need to work on vehicles. Overall, there's decent sets and the sizes are nice... especially the larger ones. I had to go with 4 stars because of the "feel" and the fact they're not metal edged so you can't whack them or slip a pipe over for some added leverage.

Follow up...
The warranty on these sets is, and I quote: "LIFETIME REPLACEMENT GUARANTEE. This product is fully guaranteed for life to the original purchaser. If it fails during proper use, other than as a result of normal wear and tear, we will replace it at no charge if returned, postage prepaid, with original receipt." I would say don't buy this because of the warranty because experience tells me that if something has a lifetime warrant you can't exclude "normal wear and tear" because that's precisely what causes most hand tools to fail over time... but that's just my opinion!

Got metric as well as English sets. Same review as matching set...Works just fine. Will not be using every day so middling quality shouldn't be an issue. Perfect for installing wall mount sink in extremely tight spaces. Construction doesn't feel as if it'll survive many drops onto a concrete floor, but if handled with care it'll be fine. Brittle red plastic really should be red rubber. Cheap and works as promised.

I ordered these wrenches when working on my old '77 Chevy truck. I never had a set of ratcheting wrenches so I picked them up. I didn't expect much for 15 bucks, but I was surprised. I used them to take the bed off the truck, 35 years worth of rust and God knows what else. I thought for sure I would snap it, but it worked great and is still working well to this day. Very happy with their durability especially since they feel so flimsy. Good buy, for the price.

these are pretty good so far. I have used them for light duty and they worked fine. But wear gloves if you will be cranking because they are not comfortable to grip. yet to see how they hold up to very strenuous cranking though. they feel a little flimsy with their plastic outer shell and the body doesn't feel like it's made of a super strong metal or anything but I don't know the specific alloy. But they are handy to have around for quick stuff so you don't have to change heads on the socket wrench and they are not expensive.

Let's get one thing straight, these are not your top of the line ratcheting wrenches from your local hardware store. However, if you're looking for an inexpensive set to get you by for light to medium mechanic work, then I would recommend this set. I'm a machine maintenance mechanic and use these on a regular basis. It's extremely convenient to have ratching wrenches in those tight spaces. I've never had an issue with Tekton tools and these have not let me down.

It's hard to see the build of these from the picture. But they feel very cheap. That red band around the metal part is cheap hard plastic. That said everything seems to work well. But from the feel of the wrench, I'm nervous about putting a lot of torque on it. I've never actually tested it's limits because I'm afraid to do so. I'm sure for minor repairs around the house it works fine.

Some other reviewers state the 'plastic' on the handle will break if dropped.. I'm here to tell you it absolutely will not.. I managed to get one stuck on a bolt on my jeep frame... I pounded on it with a 10lb sledge, mangling the wrench into a pretzel. The wrench did not break, and works like its brand new.. Even after taking a serious beating..
