J. A. Brony here,

These Banana's are great. Gold plated for better conductivity, two screws securing the wire and insulation. They provide a friction lock when tightened up and don't fall out. They are however a little long. Be sure you have ample room behind your AMP for the extended protrusion that occurs. Appx 1.75".

Buy them, GLS Audio fine to deal with.

These plug connectors are built very solidly.

Pros:
1) Solid brass construction.
2) Two screws hold wire tightly in place.
3) End turns to tighten, and holds plug firmly into Audio Equipment.
4) Well priced. Banana plugs are expensive - period. But for the build, I feel these are well priced.

Cons:
1) Expanded ends on these plugs where actually too big for me. I used 12-guage wire (from [...]), and it still was a bit lose and dangly from the end. This isn't really a design flaw - the wire jacket size varies among brands. I had a little left over 12-gauge wire of a different brand were the jacket was so large, it actually had to be fully stripped just to fit into this plug. So, depending on your wire and it's jacket, "your mileage will vary".

Tips:
1) I found that cutting the stripped portion of wire a little extra long, and then folding it over at the tip, allowed the wire to fasten more tightly into the plug. When this is done, the top of the two screws in the plug will actually be fastening a double row of wire.
2) The screws are small, and come out easy during wire attachment, if you aren't careful. No big deal. Just prep your wire over a section of open flooring, where you can easily find fallen screws if this happens.

I like to experiment with different speaker cable configurations and materials. Some of them are very large gauge, and I needed a terminator that could easily handle the size of cables I use. These are pretty good quality terminators, and easily held a 9awg cable I made. The mechanism to lock the wire into the terminator worked well, and they made a very nice looking termination to my cables. Not all the banana ends were closed tightly (they are split in 4 sections for expanding), and thus wouldn't fit in the speaker connection out of the box. I took some pliers and gently pressed them back together. This still wouldn't allow them to fit through the speaker terminal end, so I had to take the terminal ends off to get them to work. Shouldn't have to do that.

***The one big downside you must be careful of is the locking mechanism that allows you to tighten the connection in the speaker. If you tighten too much (like I did), it will literally bend the metal connection of the speaker you are inserting it into. This happened to me. When I went to insert a new set of cables that were already terminated, they would not stay in the speaker. They just popped out. I had to take the speaker terminals apart, and bend the metal back to a normal size with pliers.

I would recommend them cautiously. If you need to hold a large AWG, and if you are careful not to tighten them too tight, and won't be doing lots of cable switching...then they might be for you. I bought two sets, but won't be using them any longer.

Till I got these, I was using all bare end connections (16W wires) to connect my AVR and Speakers. I got this knowing that I mostly will not experience any differnce in audio quality, but only for easier maintenance plug, unplug etc. I was correct, no perceptible difference in Audio quality, but easy connection now to the back of the AVR and Speakers. Swapping out any other these components should be a breeze now without getting into awkward position to connect bare wire ends at the rear of the racks. One tip is to make sure that your do not strip the wire too much. Just 1 cm is good. Make sure you lock the outer most screw to tighten on the wires insulated part and the bare end is locked by the other screw. If done correctly, it provides a very secure connection. Also be careful not to push the wire too much into the banana end as it will expand the connector and later you will have difficulties fitting them to the AVR or Speakers. Do a quick trial run with one end for speaker and one end for the AVR and you will soon figure it out. Comes with a small screw driver - very handy. Good quality and well made connectors overall. The shipping was fast.

Wire connections are not very reliable. I was connecting 10AWG speaker wire on to this plug but the supplied tightening screw is not long enough to fully tighten, the wires keep coming out form the plug.

This is the second time that I have purchased these banana plugs. I have struggled for years to find banana plugs or wiring connectors that are easy to use, easy to wire, and look handsome in a nice part of my home. I have had to deal with the cumbersome aspects of wiring stereo speakers, especially when soldering is required. Cutting the right length of insulation off the wire, heating the wire to the point that resin core solder will melt and fill gaps, without melting or burning additional insulation off expensive speaker wire. I have used other VERY expensive banana plugs that after a few years the rubber or soft plastic covering become brittle and break off or persistently slip off the tip of the connector or slide back onto the wiring.
These banana plugs take all of those issues and toss them out the proverbial window. The plugs are gold plated, with black chrome shields. There are two set screws for the wire, one that can screw down on the bare wire, and another to tighten on the surrounding insulation so you know that the wire encased will be secure and not pop out on you. The outer shell of black chrome screws back over the top of the set screws so you know they are not going to go anywhere. There is a nice locking mechanism that will also spread the banana plugs for a very snug fit into the speakers, wall connectors or into the back of the AV Receiver without shorting out on the next closest connector. They are so secure, I have actually used them inside the wall when placing wall speaker wire plates.
A great and affordable option!
