Audiovox Electronics FPE4207HR is an affordable choice for your home theater. This 42-inch "Ultra" high resolution HD flat panel LCD TV saves space with its detachable and a removable tilting base, which enables you to mount the set to a wall with optional VESA-compatible hardware. This set has a dual ATSC tuner over-the-air HD reception. The FPE4207HR features 1080P resolution and Faroudja's Emmy award-winning DCDi (Directional Correlational Deinterlacing) technology, which helps to eliminate the jagginess found in non-HD video content. Faroudjas unique DCDi algorithm identifies all the moving edges in a scene and adjusts the angle of interpolation at each pixel so that the interpolation always follows the edge instead of crossing it, eliminating staircasing or jagged edge artifacts. You can also view high-definition programming (1080i/720p/480p/480i) when connected to an optional receiver or cable/satellite set-top box via the component video inputs. This set also performs automatic 3:3/2:2 pulldown detection--a handy feature for watching progressive-scan movie programs in their native 24-frame format. To adapt 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video, frames in the original movie must be duplicated; 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this duplication by removing the redundant information to display a frame-accurate picture. This set has a VGA input for use with PC monitor. Other features include Dual HDMI input, DVI with HDCP input, PIP (picture in picture), closed captioning, V-chip parental controls, progressive scan and Q surround sound. Remote control included.

I was browsing around amazon when i located this tv for a low price of $799 with free shipping, and immediately after i bought it, the price shot up to $1200+. While I am not an expert on TV's.. the set seems to be a great bargain for the price I paid, but i wouldn't pay over $1000 for it. Just felt slightly cheap; I couldn't even get the speaker bar attached and im not even sure it was the right one. On the plus side, it does have tons of ports, even if the picture quality isn't the best. I am satisfied with it, but like i said, only for what i paid. The suspicious thing is that there are very few specs for the TV listed anywhere on audiovox's website or amazons. The box says 1080p but I have no way of telling how well it even works with 1080p. No contrast ratios or anything are listed,which is a little conspicuous.

I've used most of the Audiovox LCD tv's for signage and decided on the 42" model for my house. The picture quality es excellent right through the 1080p settings. This model has a VGA port allowing you to connect a computer for a truely amazing online gaming display.

Audiovox stopped making tv's larger than 32" last year. Supposedly because only Americans want the big screens. Now there is no US support for LCD screens anymore.

Bottom line, good tv. Don't buy it if you depend on manufacturer support, there are many other manufacturers with just as good or better quality for the same price.
