Eco-dent Terradent line of toothbrushes are the best because besides being a good product they are very green. You don't dispose of the whole toothbrush. You just throw away the bristle head. Got to love this concept!!!

Do they work? Yes. They are well built and sturdy enough to last. They do their job at teeth cleaning. The handle is thin and long so you can reach those back teeth and also maneuver the brush around the mouth and teeth easily.

Wow, I thought I had found a great "green" toothbrush. Only have to replace the head.... Well there's a serious and horrible flaw with this toothbrush that apparently the other reviewers haven't noticed:
After you use the toothbrush for about 3 months....you will go to remove the little "bristle head" so you can insert a new one. When you remove it, you will see something awful. The well where the bristle head fits into will be filled with nasty, putrid, black, bacterial-laden sludge.

Apparently, water, saliva, and bacteria will travel thru the bristle holes down into the little "cave" and grow black nasty crap like a petri dish in a science lab. It won't be until you go to remove the head to change it to a new one, that you reveal the sludge below. This black growing sludge is obviously teeming with bacteria and every time you brush your teeth, you are transferring that sludge back into your mouth.

After the initial brush change, I was determined to get my use out of this brush until I could use up the last bristle head replacement. So I washed out the sludge which made me sick to my stomach. Then I thought it would be smart to occasionally pour peroxide over the brush to kill any bacteria and try to hinder it from growing underneath the bristle head. Wrong. 3 months later I pull off the head, and there's a new crop of black moldy looking sludge growing in the well. The peroxide was ineffective in stopping the growth of moldy sludge.

Very poor design.

So today, I bought a Radius Source Flax toothbrush. The handle is made from compressed flax (or you can buy compressed old dollar bills or compressed reclaimed wood) and then the ENTIRE top brush head, including a short neck is disposable. So I am still throwing away less....yet there is no hidden little cave for black sludge to grow in.

Very happy with the Radius. Don't buy the Terradent.
