It amazes me how many people on here give one star to a product that deserves 5 stars.
You need to learn the basics of video compression and transmission. And you need to know the basics for the difference between analog and digital. Then you will understand this product is 5 stars.
And the one that boggles my mind, the number of people who want to connect a modern computer to a antique CRT TV.
Every video card or mother board based video card supports TV-OUT since 2005. Check the settings. If you are using a pre 2005 video card in your computer, your my hero.
VGA has never, been built, or ever will carry audio. It was designed strictly for video from a time when computers only beeped at you. Period.
Video Graphics Array is what VGA is short for. Notice no mention of audio in there?
When VGA hit the scene in 1987 on IBM products it was moving at a unbelievable 640x480 resolution and a massive 16 colors. We were all horrified and took notes about how seeing something like this was going to affect our future.
Despite SONY and there attempts to rule anything media, AKA Microsoft, they gave you the one cable HDMI that every 10 year old knows how to use. So thinks to SONY we are all a lot dumber and SLOWER now.
Digital is nice, from a manufacturing point of view. Digital is actually a step backwards.
VGA has and is still capable of 1080P and higher resolution. That was accomplished back in 1990. The CRT monitors at the time however, could not display it, but the cable and VGA supported it. How you ask? By a CRT monitor that was tasked with showing the computer results from tests. Impressive right?
Now i will talk about VGA BNC connectors. What never heard of them? Ever been to a theater and watched a movie?

Transfers s-video to AV, and as expected not the other way around. Basically, if you're planing on hooking up your laptop to a projector, it will work fine. Don't, however, plan on hooking up your x-box or ps3 to one of your monitors with this, as the adapter you see here is not what you are looking for.

Others have posted, but with converters you have to watch the direction of the conversion. This is a VGA to SVIDEO/Composite Video. Very easy to be confused, but this is very important.

If you want to take a PC, connect to the VGA port and send that to SVIDEO or COMPOSITE video, this converter should work fine. Laptop to projector or TV assuming you are going INTO the TV as SVIDEO.

If you want to take SVIDEO or COMPOSITE video to VGA, this will NOT work. Xbox, Game Cube, gaming devices are SENDING video in SVIDEO or COMPOSITE video format. This adapter will not work for you.

If you wish to do both, be sure to look in the product description to see if the converter goes both ways.

Don't pay attention to all the bad reviews. It is clearly stated in the ad "Note: Please make sure the Video Card of your system supports TV (RCA / S-Video) output through VGA Port" So just because these people who gave it 1 or 2 stars because it didn't work haven't enough knowledge of computers to make sure it was compatible with their video card before purchasing the item doesn't make it a bad product!! A shame people are childish/dumb enough to do that! It's only $1 anyways lol not a big deal.

It does not work to convert a VGA signal to an RCA video input. Had to buy a $30 adapter and toss this thing. Tried our best to understand what this does, but could get no signal from old school; arcade computer out to the old-school tube TV it was going into. Maybe it has another use, but not sure what it'd be, Oh well...another thing for the junk drawer.

Was trying to hook my PC up to my 15 year old TV. Bought an S-video cable. It didn't work. Bought a DVI Cable and PC to TV Converter. Hooked my Computer Monitor to the PC with the DVI cable and the PC to the Converter with the VGA cable and to the TV with the S-video cable. Spent a couple of weeks on and off playing around. There was a glimmer of hope but had little success. Played around trying to set the computer to use two monitors. I gave up on that.

Bought the splitter. Hooked up one side of the VGA splitter to my View Sonic Monitor(somewhere along the way I lost my View Sonic drivers but it works without them), hooked the other side to the PC to TV Converter. Ran my s-video cable to my TV. Ran the Sound from my computer using RCA wires to splitters on the TV(I use a recorder on the same sockets) and it works. I tried it first with the 3rd RCA cable(the video) but it worked poorly. The s-video cable brings in a sharp picture. My TV is too old to have VGA or DVI sockets.

Does what it's supposed to do properly. The audio cables dont work of course, they shouldnt though as the VGA connection doesnt do audio. Make sure this is what you need before you buy it though, it puts a picture from a VGA (old style monitor connection) to an RCA video cable or S-Video cable. It does NOT work the other direction and does not transport sound.

Turns out, this is not what I was looking for. I should have read into it before purchasing. I was looking to go from a Roku box RCA output to the VGA input of a LCD monitor.. I could not successfully do this. I did, however try it for what I believe is it's designed purpose and successfully hooked up the VGA output on a computer to an old tube tv... That being said, the product likely works as it is intended. I have no use for it but it will find a home with other random cables and components I have as it is too inexpensive for me to bother returning and who knows, I or someone I know may need this one day.
