did exactly what i need it to do , put your drill press on it's lowest speed ,and with a bit of ingenuity it will make a 2 1/2" deep hole with a fairly smooth finish in hardwood, made about 300 holes so far without having to sharpen , but for the price,l just get a new one when its time

Been working on an Arcade Stick and it uses Sanwa buttons, Instructions called for a 30mm hole saw, but I like Forstner bits better and it worked perfectly.

I read the reviews before I purchased this bit and they seemed pretty good. I am boring very shallow holes in 2 1/2" solid oak. I had used another forstner bit to bore other holes in the same piece to join pieces with hanger bolts. The other bit i used, I purchased at home depot and it worked perfectly. I had to buy this bit here because I needed 1 3/16" holes. It is actually a metric measurement and is not quite the advertised size. I mic'ed it and it is actually 1.128" and it should be 1.188" Either way the bit had no tear-out but doesn't do very well on hardwoods for deep holes. I am fortunate that the bit doesn't drill very fast because I only need to drill a 1/16" deep recess for the elevator bolt head to mount flush in a tabletop. If you need a bit that cuts fast and deep in hardwood, this is not it.

Another fine item from CMT. 1-3/16 is a bit of an odd size and not found in many sets. This one was fairly priced and arrived quickly. It's remained sharp after boring about fifty holes in 3/4" ply...not much of a test, but it did the job for me. YMMV.

Its no Bormax, but for the price not too bad. CMT's quality does vary quite a bit between their products, so I've noticed, so be aware when you're purchasing something from them that it might not be all its cracked up to be.

It did not last at all! A few holes and it became dull, so I returned and bought a carbide Forstner instead. I was expecting the CMT bought from Amazon to be as good as some I have bought at Menard's, but such was not the case. I don't know who supplies them to Amazon, but the packaging was nicer than those from Menard's, but the quality of the tool is terrible.

The job was to drill 144 holes for ceramic cylinders based on specifications provided by the artist. He was off by a 1/16th on the diameter and I had to go back and redrill the holes a bit larger. This bit did the job well with no fuss or travel.
