Good value, not the best

I bought this for an Oscar Schmidt OE30 (a 335 copy) which fits this bag with room to spare. The bag is well made and has sturdy handles, zippers and latches. It's light weight and well designed for the student or mobile musician, but it could use some more padding.

[Edited 25-Sep-2012: I just bought a World Tour Deluxe 20mm ES335 gig bag for less than this one, and it's a better product. Thicker padding, and pockets close completely.]

There's a reflective stripe across the top for anyone planning to use the backpack-style shoulder straps on their bike, and the roomy pouch has several smaller divided pockets sewn onto it that are covered by the pouch flap. The flap latches like a courier bag, with the side corners open, so it's possible something could slip out if the bag were tipped upside down and shaken.

The outside of the pouch flap has a large zipper pocket on it that's made from a porous mesh (the large grey rectangle in the lower part of the photo), with a strong nylon weave over it, which I suppose could be handy for airing out your wet/sweaty laundry or maybe that stank weed you're transporting to your gig.

The inside is smooth nylon and there's a panel of thicker more rugged material at the headstock to avoid snags and rips from the string ends and tuners. The outside of the bag is this same rugged material. I'm not sure if it's waterproof.

On the downside, the 10mm padding is quite thin, and doesn't extend over the zippers inside the bag, so there's no padding around the corners of the guitar where you usually need it.

I have an old large-size padded laptop case that happens to just fit the lower bout on my 335 copy, and fits snugly around the bottom to protect it and the outer corners of the guitar.Read more ›

Best Value for Truly Wider Guitars

Just ordered it. Now cheaper than the World Tour 20mm bag. AND watch those World Tour Specs! I bought This for an Italia Rimini and like the Rickenbacker 360/12 requires an entire body width of at least 15 inches. This has that while the Tour Specs shows a "Width-Upper Bout: 13.00 inches! If Heavy Weight padding is a must why are you even looking at gig bags? Road Runner has a variety of polyfoam cases for $79.99 that hold up to scratching and scraping way better than Tolex cases. If I change my mind when this arrives about the time the new Italia does I will edit this.....

Good gig bag

I have an ES-335 Style and I was looking for a gig bag for it. This has been the best choice. It's very well made and comfortable. This is an "A+++...." product. If you want quality and low price, this is the one.

great gig bag

This is a great gig bag for a 335 style guitar. The bag has plenty of pockets for the storage of extra picks and strings. This bag has a nice layer of padding but like all gig bags that are not made for long trips.

This is for my Epi Sheraton, which has a fairly big body. The fit is snug and the pockets are nicely laid out. Handle and backpack straps... wears comfortably as I'm biking around with it.
