Basically cat litter . It looks the same a unscented cat litter .Save yourself 10 bucks go the the mart and buy a bag of unscented plain clay litter rinse and your good to go,

The only way I have to judge this is by the survival of my water lily and lotus plants. As this is my first time growing aquatic plants, I have no other stick to measure this with. The directions on the bag were clear and easy to follow. My plants have been growing well, with a water lily tuber having about 12 pads after a month, and my lotus having two after a week or so. They seem happy and mixed with the top soil have not floated away either.
