i don't think you can skip ahead to the next cd on ipod shuffle. sansa clip has menu screens that are a pain in the butt. you have to stop what ever you are doing and mess with a bunch of screens.
zen stone - you put the songs into folders on your computer. you load the folders onto this. there is a switch you push to skip to the next folder.
i used 1 of these every night for about 3 hours for more than 1 year. if it gets too cold it will turn off. mine split open a bit from dropping it so many times. if i would have bought the rubber case, i bet it would not have stopped working.
it has no "hold" button. if you're listening to a track that is 30 mins. long and the >> button gets pressed, you're screwed.

I was looking for a small, inexpensive player I could take with me running and cycling, and the Zen Stone is absolutely perfect for this! The 1GB storage is plenty of room for a half dozen of my favorite albums, and the controls are both intuitive and easy to manipulate on the run. It's lightweight, easy to sync with my PC's music collection (just drag and drop), and cheap enough to replace if it gets lost/stolen/broken. I love my Zen Stone!

I bought the Stone just a couple of years ago...being on a college campus at the time, it seemed like almost everyone was brandishing iPods, Macbooks, and other Apple products which have become really popular. I got the Creative Stone because at the time, the iPod Shuffle was a bit out of reach for me (although I later got the Shuffle as well).

Overall, I've had positive experiences with the Stone, including battery life (which another reviewer had a negative experience with). It's a very small and lightweight device that can hold a gigabyte of music, which is enough for my on-the-go needs (i.e. gym).

The reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because as of late, the device has been buggy. Sometimes it will just stop working - even if I plug it in, the recharging light won't go on! This has only happened a few times, and while I do concede maybe this is just a byproduct of its extensive use, I still don't think this should be happening. My Shuffle is still working fine, and I use it even more than my Stone!

A useful feature would be a screen, so you can actually see what you're playing! While the Shuffle doesn't have a screen either, the Sansa Clip does, which is very convenient.

The reason I think the Shuffle is better (in addition to the buggy nature of my Stone as of late) is because I much prefer transferring music via iTunes, where my music library is. This isn't that huge a deal for me, but when I gave my Stone to my sister (who is less tech-savvy than myself), for example, she found it to be a huge hassle. I therefore would not recommend the Creative Stone to non-tech people, but would recommend to others who know what they're doing when it comes to computers and MP3 players :-) But if you can go for either the Shuffle or Sansa Clip, I'd suggest going for one of those over this.
