My (Unitarian-Universalist) congregation has a Telex SoundMate hearing assist system, which uses the SR-50 for the user (receiver) end. Similar to a small pocket FM radio that you would take to the beach, they are simple and intuitive for our older members to use.

We started out with 5 receivers. After 7 years, a couple of them have died, and I have no qualms about buying 3 devices of the same model to replace the broken ones.

Eventually, I am sure we will spend the $1700 or so for a loop transmitter, but for now we will just replace the broken transmitters.
