My 92 year old mother recently fell and had a serious laceration which needed 15 stitches to close. When she left the emergency room, they installed a tegaderm bandage which really seemed to work very well. I had never seen one. They are clear, and they breathe, and they are flexible. Also important was that when the bandage was removed, they did not tear her very thin and delicate skin. I decided I should have some on hand. I searched Amazon for the bandages and found a very wide variety. Most were supplied by this company.
One of the advertisements talked about the bandages coming a certain number (like 25) to a box, and 10 or 12 boxes to the carton in the item description. I could not believe that I was going to get a carton of bandages for about $8.00, but maybe it was a misprint and I would get a box of bandages for $8.00, so I ordered it. The other tegaderm bandage that I ordered was a different size and the advertisement didn't say clearly how many I was going to get, but for $8.00, I assumed it would be a small box or something. The shipping costs were approximately $8.00 for each of these items. I ordered them, not really knowing what I was going to get, but I was completely surprised and confused when a box showed up the very next day. In that cardboard box was a single tegaderm bandage. A day later, a FEDEX envelope arrived and it again had a single bandage in it. I had paid $8.00 for each bandage, and $8.00 shipping for each bandage, which is $16.00 each delivered, and $32.00 for two bandages just to have on hand. WOW.
