I work on late model Corvettes and Cadillacs and the stock brakes on these vehicles are usually rubbish. After modifications and upgrades to the brake systems I have to do the dreaded brake bleed and I hate it just like paying taxes. But this Motive product makes it a much easier one-man task. The brake reservoir pressurization method Motive uses is much more efficient and safer then by pulling brake fluid though each bleeder valve. Also it makes it much less likely for air bubbles to linger if the whole system is pressurized.

You do not need to put brake fluid in the Motive reservoir, just use it as the main pressurization device (it will last a lot longer). And since most GM vehicles have poor quality gaskets around the main brake reservoir and vacuum assist booster, keep the pressure around ~5psi (brake fluid leaks eat paint). 5psi is enough, trust me, higher psi will be faster but could cause leaks.

I saw this tool on an episode of Powerblock TV. I ended up taking my 98 Saturn SL2 to the dealer for the last rear brake job because I didn't want to go through the hassle of recruiting someone to help pump the brakes. (It cost me 540.00 of which 400.00 was for labor!)
When I discovered that my rear wheel cylinders were leaking again, I knew it was time to get this tool. Since the brake fluid was dark colored and probably very old, I planned to flush the system rather than just bleeding it. I felt this bleeder would suit this perfectly.
After reading other reviews, I decided to do one modification. I installed a metal tire valve stem on the tank. (I'm not recommending that anyone should do this, this was done just for my personal use.) Instead of using the hand pump to pressurize the tank, I planned to use the built in air compressor on my battery jump starter. (I finally got to make good use of it since it was worthless as far as jump starting cars, but that's another story.) Since I planned on using the "dry" method, I could use the schrader valve to relieve pressure in the tank, rather than unscrewing the cap.
The cap that goes on the master cylinder is specifically made for my car type and not universal, so it fits on nice and tight, no leaks. An extra gasket for the cap was included.
The gauge goes up to 30 psi but it is recommended that you don't exceed 20 psi.
I kept it between 10-15 psi to be on the safe side. It was more than enough pressure to push the brake fluid through the system. The air compressor in my jump starter pressurized the tank slowly enough so that it wouldn't accidentally over pressurize the tank. Since I did employ the "dry" method, I had to refill the master cylinder and make sure the fluid level didn't get too low. (If it does, you'll be sorry!

This power bleeder works great. You can easily bleed by yourself in much less time. Took me about an to do all 4 brakes, including getting all the tools out and cleaned back up.

I do not add fluid to the power bleeder unit, I just fill the reservoir for the top and connect the bleeder. I pump to about 15-18 lbs for each brake line, adding fluid in between lines as you do not want the reservoir to push air into the lines.

It is recommended to flush your brake lines once a year, which I never come close to that. Now with this I probably will as it's only $10 or less for the fluid and an hours worth of time.

The vinyl tubing that comes with the unit to connect to the bleeder valve did not fit on my valve and also it is very short. I picked up several few vinyl tubing at the hardware store for around a dollar that were also longer so I could easily put the disposal container on the ground.

Right now I only have the GM adapter but will be picking up the others for our other cars.

This product is "as advertised". Extremely simple and easy to bleed your breaks or change out your dirty contaminated brake fluid. You don't need a helper and you don't need to "pump it up - hold it" , etc. Just make sure you have a cap that will fit your particular master cylinder.

I purchsed this along with the Power Stop K2010 Front/Rear Ceramic Brake Pad and Cross Drilled/Slotted Combo Rotor One-Click Brake Kit and the Edelbrock / Russell 672430 Direct Bolt-On Street Legal Brake Line Kit to do the complete upgrade of my 2000 GMC Sierra 4x4's brake system. Having this awesome tool helped me complete the project in half the time it would've taken me to flush the entire brake system on my truck doing it the "old fashioned way." This was so easy (and fun) that I am tackling the wife's 2007 Toyota Limited 4x4 soon! This makes the job of flushing the brake system or bleeding the brake system so quick and easy. The only thing I hated was having to use a turkey baster to empty out the Master Cylinder. NOTE: Be VERY careful when dealing with brake fluid. It is very hazardous to your paint. Use plenty of towels to cover painted surfaces AND read all the instructions on the Motive Canister before starting the process. You will be amazed at how fast this process is. Now I will definitely be flushing my braking system yearly. Thanks Amazon for carrying this great product and getting it to me like you always do...on time!
