To celebrate the 100th anniversary and ring in 2008, Waterford designed a completely new ball, spectacularly lit with energy-efficient LED lights in the inaugural theme, Let There Be Light. New Year's Eve 2007 marks the 100th Anniversary of the Times Square New Year's Eve Ball drop. Waterford Crystal, creators of the spectacular crystal ball that has descended on the "crossroads of the world" since the millennium celebration on New Year's Eve 1999, celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the ball drop with a magnificent new ball design for 2008 and the equally dazzling Waterford Crystal Times Square Ball 100th Anniversary Collection.

The World of Celebrations Series

Beginning with Let There Be Light, Waterford designers have created a signature cut crystal design for each edition that will be incorporated into the new Waterford Crystal Times Square Ball. The inaugural image, Let There Be Light, is a dramatically stylized radiating sunburst reminiscent of fireworks. This distinctive pattern is replicated in fine commemorative holiday ornaments and crystal giftware.
