I like this particular brand of cold pack better than the blue cold pack because the material used doesn't squish away when you lean on it. It is colder than the elastogel cold pack for people who like it colder. Eventually it will split at the seams, but the price makes it worth buying. There are different sizes which makes it easier to accomodate different body parts, rather than using just a standard size.

Size: Over-Size Cold Pack (12.5" x 18.5") Verified Purchase
This product is fabulous. I am used to lighter duty cold packs (such as my previous favorite -- Ace). They cooled, but quickly became warm. The ColPaC has much more gel in it, which has two benefits. Firstly, it stays put well. Secondly, it will remain uniformely cold for 20 to 30 minutes. It retains it's coldness so well, that (if placed back in the freezer) it is ready to go again 30 minutes later.

I am recovering from a shoulder injury. With the ColPaC I feel the cold deep down to the inner tissues, whereas with a normal cold pack I mostly felt surface cooling. After only three days, I can tell (and feel) the improvement.

I like it because the gel inside stays resilient, flexible and will mold to your body, even at -12F straight from the freezer. Other cold packs get slushy or hard at that temp. The Poly cover is thick and strong, with no uncomfortable edges. The pack gel holds a lot of cold, so it stays cold for a very long time. It is heavy so you can use its weight up top to mold down to your shape. It is resilient so you can lay on it like a gel cushion. It feels like a pillow.
The materials were well chosen to function as a rugged cold pack. You will need a cover between you and the pack.

I just got this today. Jan 15, 2016 It comes in a large zip lock bag. As soon as I picked it up I said oh this is too much. I went to put it in my refrigerator freezer but it needs to lay flat and I had a lot of food in there it takes up about half of the freezer.

I do have a large chest freezer in my basement but that is really inconvenient.
