They are nice and slippery with the yarn, but, the seam where the cable and the needle meets is rough and the knitting doesn't go very fast. It is hard to pull forward the stitches on the needle, very bad design. I have several sizes of these and they all do the same thing. I don't recommend for an expensive project.

Not super fond of the bend in the needles at the base. It seemed to make the loops tighten around the bend and then stay there rather than sliding up the needle or down onto the nylon line. Gummed up the works for me, so I'll stick to straight needles after this.

While I liked these needles, they were not comparable to the Skacel brand.

Why? Because the Skacels are shiny and the yarn just flows easily off from one end to the other without any effort.

The Susan Bates circular needle often requires the knitter to push the yarn to the end of a point to get the knitting to progress.

My latest project I used two sizes of circular needles by Susan Bates and Skacel and the difference was evident.

Susan Bates Crystallites are still my favorite, but these would be my second favorite. I enjoy the medium-level glide (bamboo provides too little glide and addi knitting needles provided too much glide), which is perfect for an advancing beginner.

Because I've been using the Crystallites, I have noticed the grating sound the metal makes. It's not that big of a deal but is less pleasant. On the plus side, these are much more sturdy than the Crystallites.

I like the pearl gray finish on these needles They don't cause eye fatigue like shiny ✨ nickel needles. And the finish is nice to work with. There is a slight improvement of the stiffness of the cable over older circular needles

I ordered two sets of these circular needles to knit my first pair of socks. I managed to get started, but was so frustrated at how difficult it was to slip the stitches back onto the needle to begin a new row that I put it aside for days at a time. I since ordered another brand and have been moving along on my socks very nicely. I was not happy to do it, but tossed these as I know I will never attempt them again.
