I never thought I'd write a review of a work glove but I've found that Mechanix work gloves are so thoughtfully designed that they deserve special mention.

They're available in a range of sizes for both men and women so that they fit like a, um, glove. Unlike the "one size fits nobody" no-name leather gloves that I used to use these still allow me to operate tool triggers and controls, handle smaller nails and screws, and perform delicate tasks while still having my hands protected from splinters and scrapes.

I also like the velcro wrist closure. When I'm working working outside the closure prevents dirt and debris from collecting in the cuff and falling into the glove.

I think the best thing I can say about Mechanix gloves is that they don't get in the way. They're not a necessary evil -- they're something you'll want to use.

I'm a PREVIOUS huge fan of Mechanix Utility Gloves. I wear Mechanix Utility gloves all the time. But they have totally changed the fabric content on the back portion of the glove. The newest incarnation of the Utility Glove is now bulky, with thick seams, heavy weight and awkward. A previous change a few years ago was in graphics only and the nimble integrity of the remained intact. If you loved the light weight agility of the Mechanix Wear glove you'll be deeply disappointed in the newest, loser version. No longer can you put your hands in your pockets to make change, pick up a dime off the floor. They remind me of a poor imitation of their former quality selves.

I buy a pair of mechnix gloves every winter for driving and general house work and this revision looks and feels nice but I have one complaint. there is a red pull tab on the bottom of the wrist that is sewn into the neoprene (?) wrist. the tab is melted to prevent fraying but the melted part is very sharp and irritating to the skin. this tab is located in an area of the glove that is tight and therefor in constant contact with the skin

Do not wash! water and detergent seems to break down material... I am on my second pair of Mechanix gloves. They last about 60 days before coming apart at seems. I work in a shop for 8 hours a day and with heavy use these gloves last about 1 or 2 months. After a week the stitching is already coming apart but no full blown hole ...yet. Price needs to be well under ten bucks.

I got these gloves on sale a while back and I have used them a lot. These are not the heavy duty gloves like the original Mechanix Gloves. However, I use them all the time around the house for odd jobs. They keep me from cutting or scraping my hands. I can’t really complain. The only reason I give them 4 stars is that in less than a year of use, I am starting to see some wear on the finger tips and in the webbing of my palm. No holes yet, but I should think for the type things I am doing, they shouldn’t be showing wear quite this soon.

This is not a great deal. The price I paid was slightly above average and the quality of this glove is the lightest duty I've ever seen from the Mechanix brand. I'm sure I'll never use them but it's not worth bothering with a return. It's basically a low level Harbor Freight quality glove. At Harbor Freight I could have paid half the price for gloves twice as good as this set. If you want a durable and useful glove for wrenching and anything from Entry-Level to Advanced tool handling, look for a different glove. I recommend buying them at a brick & mortar store. It's important with gloves that you've been able to try them on.

I bought these as a replacement for another pair of Mechanix gloves that finally gave up the ghost after 6 years of light duty. I live on 6 acres so I have plenty of 'honey-do' tasks to knock out and I had been satisfied with my first pair of Mechanix so I thought I would give these a try. I like how they fit and for most of the tasks I do, which are DIY/homeowner types (not heavy-duty professional tasks) these are perfect. From pulling weeds to splitting wood to stacking hay, I've always been satisfied.

I can't speak to their durability just yet since I have only had them for a few months, but if I can get even half as much time from them as I did my last pair, I'll be pretty happy with that.

They might not be beefy enough for really heavy duty tasks, but for anything I would put under the 'utility' category I think they deliver.

I have used this model glove off and on for the past maybe eight years and while they are not the most durable glove, they are quite possibly the best compromise of protection and comfort for the price. I use these gloves in my wood shop and in part of my kit as an infantryman. The gloves last approximately two months of hard use which really isn't bad and are easily found for replacement.
