After reading the reviews I wondered about the part. Some said thAt it would fit and others said it doesn't. Perhaps it will fit other models but it certainly does fit the Kitchen Aid KSB5. It is much smaller and there are only 2 cogs instead of the original 6. I am happy that I purchased this with an Amazon.com Credit Card. They helped me get a refund with no problem. I did have to pay for the shipping the part to them and also the shipping of the part to me. That came out to almost $5.00. At least I got a little over $12.00 back. On their reciept it states that there if there is "free" shipping there will be a $10.00 handling charge plus the price of the shipping charge to send the item to you. Thank goodness this was not the case or I would have been a very unhappy camper. IF YOU HAVE A KITCHEN AID KSB5 BLENDER DO NOT BUY THIS PART......IT WILL NOT FIT!

Hey, it works! Seriously, these things seem to wear out more than in the good ole days of the Oster blenders. I am not totally sure why, but I think it has a lot to do with the country of origin and perhaps just the disposable nature/greed of current day vendors trying to get some amount of recurring income from customers.

If you make a lot of smoothies by blending ice cubes, prepare to buy more of these, as eventually they will start to leak.

Hint: if your fridge supports crushed ice through the door, use it, as it will lessen the wear and tear on the blender blade assembly when blending smoothies.

OK, as a mechanical and electrical engineer, I have to add this anecdote: The way the Kitchen Aid engineers designed the mounting for the blade assembly is flawed. It does not have a self-centering mechanism, and if you mount the blade assembly and non-chalantly screw down the base onto the canister jar, it may or may not be exactly centered properly. And if not, the clutch (rubber thing) will be prematurely worn out. SO, when installing the blade assembly, look down onto the mounting spot under the canister and try to make sure that you CENTER the blade assembly as well as possible before tightening the base on the canister. Any failure to get the blade assembly centered as close as possible will definitely result in premature wear on the nasty little rubber coupling that seems to wear out anyway, but later is better than sooner :-)

We've had about a year to evaluate this, and it's really good. Arguably better than the one that came with our blender. The blades are slightly different, and we don't have to stop it and stir up material that isn't blending. This blade seems to suck everything down and mix it up. Nothing escapes the blades!

Very happy with this item.

Our blender is a model ksb5wh.

This model blade evoured the coupler teeth on my KSB3 blender. So now I hove to buy a new coupler, or give up and throw tho whole contraption away.

Returns are allowed, but you pay the postage, which is 75% the price of the item so what's the point?

This blade was a perfect fit to my kitchenaid blender KSB5ww4, and the blade is so much sharper than the original. I am very pleased! I also found the seller to be prompt in shipment and they communicated quickly with me when I found a small crack in my new blade. The result was they immediately sent a replacement to it(which was perfect when it arrived) to me free of charge and didnt require me to ship back the cracked blade. Had I not bought this little gasket and cutter blade assembly, I would have had to though my blender away. I thought to seek help online and found I could spend a little money, buy the parts, watch You Tube on how to fix the problems and super wonderful I did it all by myself. So, happy I didn't discard my ole favorite blender and it's as good as new. Thank you my daughter for screwing it up with ice, so I could have a brand new blender once again. And I didn't really want any of the new models, since this one is better than all the rest. Always seek help before tossing your old things away.

It fits our blender in diameter, but there is too much vertical play on the cutting blades and shaft. It makes a terrible noise and I think would eat up our new coupler if we used it for long. Not Seneca's problem (super fast shipping) but a manufacturing problem. We're going to keep it as a backup as I think you have to pay shipping back. Better off getting a used one off of Ebay.
