This is the cool/cold version for 68 F and below.

The wax comes in a paper wrap and has a crease down the middle so you can break the wax bar in half.

This wax does have excellent traction and has a pleasant smell.

If you are waxing your surfboard for the first time, make sure you use Sticky Bumps Basecoat first or this won't stick properly.

You should reapply wax every session because some of it rubs off with every use.

Have used this on my board for several seasons now and find it be just fine for colder water (I surf at and near Santa Cruz, CA where the ocean temps are 53 to 59 F). Just make sure if the season is starting or if your board is new that you apply the separate base coat first. One bar will last at least five sessions. Good stuff overall

After reading all the reviews that people had been getting cold wax I figured I'd get the same. I got 5 bars of the cool wax which isn't going to do me any good with the winter coming up here in NorCal. I am still panning on using it for the time being while the water is warm and really like this wax but have to give it one star for not only distributing the wrong product but doing so inconsistently...

Too bad Amazon doesn't allow people to rate the seller and/or the price on the product page. But the fact is that seller and/or price is part of the deal. So I'm giving 3 stars; 5 for the wax and 1 for the seller/price.
The Wax: Very, very good surf wax; few if any work better. Cool water is ideal for SoCal. Let some bumps build up, use a wax comb, and you will not slip.
The Price: TOTAL RIPOFF. Even expensive surf shops charge no more than $2, and $1.50 is far more normal. And this is priced here at a total RIPOFF PRICE of $4 per bar. Really?
Don't buy it here unless you have a lot of extra money to burn.

Back in the day, buying wax was one of those things you had to do at the local surf shop. Usually in a panic right before a surf session. It was either that or walk up and down the tide line looking forlornly for someone's partial bar washed up on shore.

I am not all that self conscious, but it always seemed I was running the gauntlet at the surf shops - being judged by the local scrum of surfers that might be in the shop and given the cold eye by the 'just above a carnie' worker at the shop who might snicker - 'Don't you want the sex wax?'. No. No Mr. Carnie - I want the Sticky Bumps - not your poor little attempt at sexual harassment.

Those days are gone. Now I can proudly purchase my wax online. No more 'carnie gauntlet' and I only meet the local scrum in the lineup as nature intended.

Sticky bumps is great. Goes on easily. Nice smell. Does the job.
