I've been staying with some folks for a while and noticed that they manually emptied their dehumidfier daily. They've been doing it for 8 years!

I installed this pump in no time and they'll never have to empty it again!

This pump works great. Very basic, but it does the job nicely. It makes very little noise. Turns on / off smoothly and quietly. Pumps for a few seconds to clear out the basin and then goes back to rest until it fills again.

The pump does not come with either inbound or outbound tubing / hose, so you will need to buy them separately.

Also, I found the instructions a bit skimpy and less clear than they could have been. You just need to read it closely and do a bit of fiddling to get it to work properly.

As elsewhere mentioned in these reviews, a key thing is to ensure that the water / condensate source (i.e., the dehumidifier or AC unit) is higher than the Little Giant pump. This allows the water to flow easily 'downhill' into the Little Giant basin.

In my case, this required putting the dehumidifier about 8" up on a box, then fiddling with the hose to ensure it flowed cleaning downhill to the pump.

I got this Little Giant pump to mount with a new Frigidaire Dehumidifier for the cellar. It is not really wet just gets musty without the dehumidifier running. It can fill the 2 gallon bucket in about a day and a half.

Mounted both on a board, just to keep thing tidy and so they don't get moved around.

It has worked very well and I don't have to empty the bucket any more. The old Dehumidifier (10 year old Maytag) would not stop when the bucket was full sometimes and would dump a load of water on the floor. Major pain.

This has so far solved the problem and the bucket runs dry all the time. This pump sends the water up and out via the washing machine drain, a lift of about 7 feet. Duty cycle is around once hourly and it runs almost silent and for a very short time - less the 20 seconds.

I would recommend it to anyone.

The dehumidifier we picked to replace the Maytag is a Frigidaire FAD704DUD 70 Pt. Dehumidifier, so far it has run flawlessly but only time will tell. The reviews ranged from "the best thing I ever brought" - to "load of crap don't by it". Like many others - somewhat confusing. In the end you just have to pick one and hope Brown delivers it gently and the right way up. It arrived in only the carton Frigidaire packs it in. It has a life-size color picture on the box. Maybe that's why to arrive the right way up :) Still I let it stand for a few hours and then plugged it in and it has worked fine so far. With only the thin card box though - I thing we were lucky it got here in one piece.

In the instructions, which are sparse to say the least, but do come in 4 different languages :) It did not say to bung up the orifice that empties into the internal bucket when you affix the hose on the back for constant draining.

I have this pump handling my furnace and AC condensation. It's pumping straight up 6 1/2 feet and then propelling the water another 15 feet through flexible tubing in the ceiling before it begins a downward descent through pvc pipe. No problems. It comes on almost every five minutes when the AC is on. So far this pump has been perfectly reliable.

This is the top of the line pump for your furance or a/c unit. You just have to clean it out every year. To clean it,just unplug from receptacle, remove the plastic tubing and unloosen 2 screws that hold the unit in place. The "20" in the model number stands for the head pressure, meaning it will pump "UP" to 20 feet (head pressure) However our VCM-15ULS model is great also, does about the same job,and a little bit cheaper. This model will pump up "15" feet head pressure. So either one will work on your system. Just make sure of the proper voltage 120 or 240 volts. Average price range is $35-$65. Ebay has them real cheap. This pump will last for many many years, just clean it out once a year.

Works great. Simple and does what it is supposed to...Pumps water from drainhose in the dehumidifier. I was looking for a dehumidifier with a pump, but heard some bad reviews on the pumps breaking before the dehumidifier did.

This solved the problem of emptying the bucket.

Excellent condensate removal pump for high-efficiency furnaces and other applications requiring constant water removal. This was bought as a replacement and performs better than the last pump. The company packaged this product with care and speed, and this arrived a day and a half after being ordered on Amazon with regular shipping. Brilliant all around!

Franklin electric, who makes the Little Giant and several other brands of pumps of various types (sump, sewage, transfer, utility, etc.) has a good reputation for making reliable products. The Little Giant VCMA and VCMx series condensate pumps are among the better ones you can buy. Forget the bargain pumps at Lowes and Homedepot. I've used numerous condensate pumps and found some last only a year or so. Ten years is not an unreasonable expectation for useful service life for a Little Giant. The VCMAs units are often used by HVAC installers when installing a new HVAC system.

Although the pump will keep running for several years, the microswitch that turns the pump on/off is the weak point in the design and will only last about a year. It's very easy to replace but it costs about $15-$20 for the part plus $10 shipping, so about $25-$30 total, or about $10 less than buying a whole new pump. If the switch were more durable, I'd rate the pump 5 stars.
