I can't say enough how much I love this sifter. I bake large amounts of bread and cakes and nut rolls and always had to fill the little sifters over and over. I wanted one like my mom had (it dissappeared) and finally got one. I have had 3 already that have rusted on me. This is stainless steel, beautiful screen, and a crank not a squeeze handle which is miserable for people with arthritis. This one will not rust out!! It is a beautiful addition to my bakeware. I would give this item 10 stars if I could.

Have used this 8-cup sifter a few times now for mixing and sifting flour and gluten. Works fantastic! Makes fast work of 3-5 cups of flour! For the average person, this is light-weight and easy to use. The handle is fairly heavy-duty and can be taken apart if necessary (or replaced?). I highly recommend!

This sifter replaces my old rusty-screened 'hand pincher' that was a nightmare every time I had to use it. The crank is so easy and pain free; the capacity is large enough to handle a 'double-recipe'! I am in love. Made well; does an awesome job 'sifting' and in a sense, blending whatever is in it; will not rust...if only everything in my kitchen was this wonderful!

Wow the quality is great. It is so hard to find a sifter that I like so I was a little nervous about ordering one online but with the ease of returns through Amazon I took the gamble and I am glad I did. I love it and is a nice big size. Well worth the money.

I gave this item 3 stars becuase it is GREAT to sift large amounts of flour or powdered sugar. I bought it becuase I was baking a wedding cake that required large batches of flour and sugar and it was GREAT....BUT when I used it to sift small amounts of flour for a 6 inch cake, it was HORRIBLE...the flour flung everywhere and gets stuck on the middle ridge inside the sifter...if you only want to use it for less than 1 or 2 cups of flour, don't waste your time on this item.

Here is 1 clear reason why this is 1 star. It is advertised as stainless steel which we would all believe equates to zero rust. That is NOT the case. 45 days after ordering - I haven't even used it. I washed it - dried - and put away. I just pulled it out and see rust on the two junction points where the inner parts connect into the round outer casing. Really disappointing and makes me feel like I should have just gone with my gut to buy a cheap one and toss it periodically and replace it.

I'm going to attempt a return although no idea as to whether they will take it back. Photo of the area is attached.

The sifter works and is easy to clean but one must put a plastic wrap cover over the top to prevent flour from rising up in a cloud and covering everything within a 3-foot radius.

I have a new stove and decided to make a pound cake. The recipe called for sifting the flour. I had an old rusted hand crank sifter that had belonged to my grandmother and I had one with the squeeze handle. I used the squeeze handle sifter and decided I would never again use it. I ordered this on Amazon the next day and had it in two days. When compared to the squeeze handle sifter, this sifter almost sifts by itself. It is bigger than I expected. I guess I just had not stopped to think about just how much 8 cups is. I would highly recommend this sifter.
